I'd like to know if this has happened to anyone else, and if so, have you figured out a workaround/solution?

The problem is, my Primary Photo seems to be "stuck".

If I replace it with the new photo I want, it saves it and displays it fine on my profile - but if I check it with another browser, it still shows the old photo. And yes, I'm clearing the cache and using Shift-F5 to reload.

If I delete the primary, add the photo I want as an additional, and check the profile from another browser - there's no photo at all (not even the additional ones).

If I upload the new photo as both Primary and Additional - again, shows up fine in MY profile, but externally still shows the old photo.

It's like the database driver is "stuck" to the URL of the old photo, and won't refresh.

Any suggestions?

Yeah, the photo servers take a long time to catch up around here, wait 2 or 3 hours, if nothing happens (and you clicked apply right?) then contact support.

I'd say give it three or four days. Primary photos need to be approved and that takes a while. Don't put anything explicit as your primary photo. They won't approve it. If you did, then that's the problem.

did they start doing the photo approval thing again? I thought that had been ditched a couple of years ago.

If primary photos were approved we wouldn't have some of the pictures so many have objected to on the forum. [;)]

Basically, mnottertail has the closest answer to this. It takes some time to change. That is about as technical as I will get. The rest is best coming from Support if you have further issues.
