ORIGINAL: Arturas You're putting a box around this that does not exist. "Police", "Border patrol", Ground troops. He is deploying immediately 1000 troops. Tomorrow more. He does not say he is fighting an invasion with only 1000 and you are thinking ground troops only and leaving out his air assets. Remember, he can only legally do this in case of an invasion of the Texas border. He has called it an invasion. He is taking control of the southern Texas border. Throw all your preconceived notions away because Texas is in charge there. Calling it an invasion and LEGALLY calling it an invasion are two VERY different things. We went to war with Iraq with Bush, but we never DECLARED WAR on Iraq. I would think you could understand both of these concepts, right? I'm identifying the reality that you can not handle. Where is the part were you agree on a compromise? Its not there! You suffer form the same problem as House Republican/Tea Party: "My Way or Hell!". Except it doesn't work that way in reality, and you don't like that either. Sorry, but you are required to put your big boy underwear on to handle this issue.... Yes, he could have air and navy units deployed. Last I checked, the Texas National Guard does not have guys as highly trained as US Army Rangers, US Navy SEALS, or the airpower of the US Air Force. So your creating huge amounts of bullshit in thinking what this governor is doing will be 'all that is needed'. Texas is not in charge of anything. Only an idiot would believe that bullshit. If the United States of America (that would be the other 49 states) tell Texas to stand down, Texas will stand down. Given that the Texas 'leadership' is 'shoot first and ask questions later', its likely sooner or later the President of the United States will have to apologize to one or more nations over the stupidity that is of 'Texas'. The problems in and around Texas will not be solved by the mentality of Texas, but by the United States of America and other nations. You have this belief that by treating a symptom, you will cure the patient of the illness. Unfortunately you do not understand the full illness, so there is no way for you to actually treat the patient. If anything, you'll get them in worst shape if not death.....
