At the moment.....The song 'Crazy' by Gnarles Barkley. I love that song. Smilezz-- Meditation and nature, as said above are really great ways to find that glimmer. I also personally have some great books I look to - the Tao Te Ching and The Alchemist are both books that have affected me deeply, and I go back to them often when I'm feeling unsure about life or sadness so heavy I think I won't be able to go on. The philosophy of taoism is very uplifting even if you practice a different religion. Also, for a little bit lighter but still wonderful read - The Tao of Pooh and Te of Piglet. I don't think I've ever seen anyone put down the Tao of Pooh without a smile on their face. ALL of these books are wonderful accompaniments to nature, as well. If you aren't outside appreciating the rythm of the world around you when you read them, you will probably want to be. I'm sure there are other books out there that "speak" to others and remind them of the reasons they do have a life with "glimmer" in it to begin with. Conversations with certain people who understand can also bring that glimmer, of course. A deep, long, intense conversation with someone who is not just listening to wait for their turn to talk can be beautiful, because it may not take away melancholy but it certainly makes the load of it feel a lot lighter. I also love children, and think that little tid bits of child-wisdom and innocence is great. If you know any toddlers sometimes a conversation with a toddler, or just rocking a baby to sleep can make the world feel a bit better. And you can think of your relationship with him too... Because no matter how hard it gets he will have thoughts of you to keep him going. How lucky you are to have found each other because no matter how long he is gone for, he knows that he has you in this world and vice versa.
