There is no rule to it, and it highly depends. If your just a sex slave, I would say within days to a month or 2. However, it can get a lot longer a lot quicker the more serious the relationship should be and less people involved.
As far as myself. I'm a TPE 24/7 Master. For me to accept someone, I have to trust them a bit. So it could take me a month or it could take a year. Now I'm obviously not going to jerk the possible slave around, and assume they will wait.
Anyways, I'm not really sure what your relationship is like. But the best advice anyone can give you is to just ask your master to be accepted. Let him/her know you are serious about this.
