I read the RIP thread for him and was as shocked and disappointed as anyone else that Robin Williams is gone. This doesn't belong in a tribute thread. Has it ocurred to anyone else that his death might have been accidental by auto erotic asphyxia? Hanging yourself by the closet door? The motivation doesn't change the loss, but I just wondered about it. Anyone else? If it was more obvious that's what happened at the scene, I'm happy it wasn't reported in a salacious manner. He brought too much happiness to people to end up a dirty joke.

I highly doubt it, since he apparently also tried to slash his wrist with a knife. Also, since his struggles with severe depression were well-documented, I think that the most likely cause of death was suicide by hanging.

-fr It crossed my mind at first too. But it looks like that wasn't it. And his wife just put out a statement saying he was in the early stages of Parkinson's disease, as well as advanced long term depression. Clearly a dear man. I wish him peace.
