Can someone give me a good source for well-made (read: overbuilt) fishnet stockings? I'm talking the type that is significantly more durable than the cheap cr*p available at the Marts and on ebay which doesn't even last one performance before tearing to shreds. Extra points if they are footless and a tighter pattern.

Go ahead and joke around, but I'm playing 4 gigs a week and outfit is part of the show. Can't have my leg wear falling down around my ankles on stage; definitely not part of the show. Thanks everybody!

If you can stand them (and certainly not implying you need them)- Spanx makes some really nice onces. I think Nordstroms is where I got mine.

Shifty, how would you rate the durability? I'm really hard on stuff when performing.

Mine have made it through several nights of clubbing- including one night from 10pm-5am in Montreal!
Although, they do have a hole in the inner thigh (my legs touch...its from rubbing)- I'd say they are pretty good- I actually really like the tops of them because the "not fishnet part" comes down a bit further on the thigh and is way more comfortable, and in my experience a bit more durable- since they are easier to get on and off. And they stay RIGHT IN PLACE.

I'm pretty sure this is what I have, I remember being like "If these don't last I'm going to be bullshit cause I spent so much on them!" but I've been really happy with them.

Thank you. I'll check 'em out. And yes, a little Spanx support is ALWAYS a good idea for me since I usually wear corsets on stage and want the lower line to blend w/the upper.

Do you have a link to your favorites?

Whoops, just missed your link. Thanks!

You may have already thought of this since you're a performer, but have you tried your local theatrical costumiers? That would be my first stop. Otherwise a dance school might be able to recommend where they get their supplies from.

^^^Awesome idea. Thanks Athena!

This thread should be against TOS. Fishnet stockings and purple on a woman are gruesome.

Not sure what your budget is but I always prefer quality. Falke and Wolford are my go-to brands. If you're in a America, higher end department stores should stock them.

Thank you Lucy and missbrownjinx :-)

Try looking for "fishnet dance tights" instead of stockings.

Many moons ago, Danskin made some that would last decades.
