litleone8620 -> Making Sense (7/11/2006 1:09:24 PM)

Lately, i've found myself not making a lot of sense to other people when posting a reply.

I make perfect sense to myself, and i know what i want to say, but after i'm finished with a reply and send it off to where ever it goes, i think back, and realize people might not get what i was trying to say.

Does this happen with anyone else?

as in "I believe you understand what you thought you saw.. but what you read was not what I meant?" :)

I  blame mine on menopause.

Yes frequently.
Although just recently i havent made a lot of sense to myself either.
When you type it makes sense in your head when you read it back it sounds completely different.

Kedikat -> RE: Making Sense (7/11/2006 1:26:28 PM)

Some bad poetry, in case Treswank pops in here [:)]

Chameleon words
Changing color as they touch you
If you were me
We might understand
What we are saying

That was some excellent bad poetry, and made complete sense.

Yeah. If you don't agree with what I say, I throw lizards at you.

litleone8620 -> RE: Making Sense (7/11/2006 1:57:44 PM)

Why lizards? Why not some other small, gross creature?

windchymes -> RE: Making Sense (7/11/2006 2:00:47 PM)

Hell, I don't even understand what I type sometimes.

sub4hire -> RE: Making Sense (7/11/2006 2:37:41 PM)

I always make sense to myself.  Yet, because I hate typing and am lazy along with the fact I loathe long stories I don't always explain myself in detail.  Therefore looking like I am not making sense at times.

sleazybutterfly -> RE: Making Sense (7/11/2006 2:39:54 PM)

I mean what I say, it's just getting others to take it in the way in which I said it.  I have written things that were meant in the most non-snotty way..yet people have taken it that way.  Or worse...when you mean something more "tongue in cheek" and it gets all blown out of proportion.

I guess what we all type just makes logical sense to us, but to someone else..nothing.

I think this was one of those posts again... nevermind.

desertdancer -> RE: Making Sense (7/11/2006 5:47:23 PM)

I'm in the middle of an international move, quitting my job and planning a wedding, working on about an average of 3 hours sleep a night and working to rid my apartments of everything...my head is spinning constantly I no longer make sense to myself, so I know I'm not making sense to you all when I post, but luckily your all nice about it and give me the benefit of the doubt[:D]  WHen a nice buncha CM members we have

shyfem -> RE: Making Sense (7/11/2006 6:45:31 PM)

Good Evening littleone,

I think we all have had that happen. I read and re-read my replies before hitting "OK", but even then sometimes it comes across in the wrong manner. It is so difficult to portray tone of voice when writing which makes things all the more difficult.

*Oh and Kedikat, love the poem. Perfect for this post [:)]
