Not to many years ago, it was found that 'Clover Leaf' on and off ramp highways create more congestion during rush hour than actually help. That and the design creates more accidents? That on ramps require greater distances to allow vehicles with slower acceleration to speed up to 'highway speeds' without causing 'merging problems'. Or that off ramps require multiple lanes to keep gridlock from forming due to many cars exiting at the same time.
How would people have found all of this information, MercTech? You see to think you have 'a clue' here. Why don't you 'enlighten' all of us.....

Cited references are NOT current references on the internet. They are on there because the internet stores just about everything; while taking up the weight of a non-genetically modified strawberry. No, the original design of highways was to handle problems for its time. As time marched forward, more people started using vehicles; the roads grew more congested. Logically that meant newer designs based on research would need to be found to handle the problems of both 'then' and the future. Research has been updating over the decades.

An yet much information is KNOWN about motorcycles crashing. Including the helmets and the bike leathers. If we were using only the information from the 1950's; how would we possibly know all this information found on youtube? The stuff that is European/British has also been understand in 'The States'.
