I'm sad about it.
Her documentary "Piece of Work" is really a good glimpse- she was a really hard worker.

I wondered how long she might go on as a rutabaga. I'm kind of glad for her that it wasn't long. God bless you, Joan. R.I.P. You were one of the best.

What I admire the most about Joan Rivers is that she was her own woman and wasn't afraid to speak her mind.

She was a sassier, more loud-mouthed version of iconic comedienne Lucille Ball (who was, however, a master at physical comedy). There were times when what she voiced made me cringe inside. I would never say something like that. But she dared to go where no woman or man had gone before, intrepidly.

Joan was also a successful designer with her own fashion jewelry line which became hugely popular. She was a mother with a close relationship to her daughter Melissa (condolences), a wife who by all appearances had a husband who was devoted to her, and who was devoted to him. She lived a good, full life. Rest in Peace, Joan.

She was wickedly funny at times but antagonized the trans community sometimes.

It's kinda sad that her plastic surgery was so big a part of her life, and evidently it killed her.

She wasn't under for plastic surgery. She was having a procedure done on her vocal chords.

Not really. She was having trouble with her voice and throat. It was essentially an upper endoscopy with some repair work. I had one last fall looking for an ulcer or Celiac (I had cancer instead).
