You and he are kind of hopeless. You are missing the point. All you do is criticize.

Would it make you happier if they made up quotes and claimed other people said things they didn't like you did in post #6 because I should let you know. Most of the people are going to read that and know you are full of crap.

All the fault with immigration reform lies with TEA PARTY. Congress is supposed to control immigration, and all Obama can do is modify its enforcement.

Of course it's all the tea party's fault. And don't you let those mean repubs tell you any different.

I expect he is getting the brown people pissed off at him, so that the nutsuckers cant whine he is allowing St. Wrinklemeats 11 million illegal aliens in this country to vote for non-nutsuckers, cuz it can't be them, can it?

NorthernGent -> RE: President Dither (9/8/2014 11:55:07 AM)

Obama comes across quite well. He's articulate and clearly educated. No idea what his policies are but when you listen to him speak he carries an air of authority that Clinton and Bush certainly didn't have.

President Obama is the first good orator we've had since Reagan, when he wants to use it, but he's also been guilty of "phoning it in" on plenty of occasions. One example that springs to mind was his speech at West Point (the US Army military academy) a few years back. That was horrible. He was speaking to an audience whose lives would be placed on the line by the policy he was there to outline, and not only could he not find a way to use the word "victory" anywhere in his speech to the troops, he couldn't even be bothered to try and pretend he was interested in being there.

He gives good campaign speeches, but he was elected to govern, and no matter how well the words may come out, when he hasn't got the political chops to deliver, that matters a hell of a lot more.

Sanity, let go of the petty chickenshit stuff. It's childish.

Funny thing there, Sanity, stone sober (like tonight), slightly buzzed, car keys deliberately hung on the hook, or that odd night when I finish a 6-pack, my low tolerance for your shallow end contributions doesn't change much.

Obama has a strong deep voice but without a teleprompter his oration is shit. I'm thinking Clinton takes Obama hands down in the oration department.

His speeches are sometimes filled with monumental fuck ups like the ones Sanity mentioned and then some that he didn't like telling the world when we were going to pull out of Iraq or most recently that we don't have a statagy for Syria. Giving our enemies useful information is not good oration. Leaving out the word "victory" wasn't exactly great oration either.

mnottertail -> RE: President Dither (9/9/2014 11:52:47 AM)

If he is a dither, the 'rightwing' is dithyrambic.

I'm not close to this so just going off gut instinct but Clinton came across as a right smarmy fucker. Wouldn't have trusted him one bit.

I liked Bush as a character. Let's be frank, politicians don't run countries these days and Bush knew that and got up on the podium and just got on with it usually laughing at himself. In his own way, he was a likeable character.

But, of the three, surely Obama is the most believable?

I get that about Clinton. He can come across as a nefarious character. That time he wagged his finger I knew he was lying. Obama comes off as unbelievable and totally full of shit. I don't mean like he's lying, he actually believes his own shit and seems at times way over his head. With that Teleprompter he came across good on the stump and with the lame stream media sucking his ass all the way to the Oval Office, he fooled enough people to get the votes.

Walking it back

quote:

A President Whose Assurances Have Come Back to Haunt Him

WASHINGTON — When President Obama addresses the nation on Wednesday to explain his plan to defeat Islamic extremists in Iraq and Syria, it is a fair bet he will not call them the “JV team.”

Nor does he seem likely to describe Iraq as “sovereign, stable and self-reliant” with a “representative government.” And presumably he will not assert after more than a decade of conflict that “the tide of war is receding.”

As he seeks to rally Americans behind a new military campaign in the Middle East, Mr. Obama finds his own past statements coming back to haunt him. Time and again, he has expressed assessments of the world that in the harsh glare of hindsight look out of kilter with the changed reality he now confronts...

No. Hell no. Oh hell fucking no. Go watch the 2004 DNC speech (try American Rhetoric as a source for video with text) and you'll see him at his very best, but his message is one of inspiration, not accomplishment. Clinton could sell used cars. Bush (I or II) could sell insurance. Obama would only be suited to selling Jesus (or the savior of your preference).
