Murder charges have been overturned against Pistorus. The judge is contemplating what seems to be their equivalent of negligent homicide.

It is sort of negligent to gun down someone sitting on the shitter, before they have properly wiped.

One would think.

...their equivalent of negligent homicide.

They're calling it "Culpable Homicide". From what I've heard, the judge is throwing out all kinds of witness testimony and only relying on the "technological" and forensic evidence.

Well, ya know, if the judge thinks the testimony is unreliable, and as a result the case is too weak to get a conviction under due process, then the case should be dismissed. This hardly counts as some sort of 'celebrity justice', as the OP opines. People on these forums are way too prone to sniffing out conspiracies. Get a life, eh?

It's hard for me to believe that someone broke into their home, a gated community I think, and locked themselves in the bathroom. He knew Reeva was in that bathroom and he killed her. No one else was in the house.

His defense is so weak as to virtually constitute a confession. Who said anything about a conspiracy? Celebrity justice is not a conspiracy it is allowing their fame to cloud judgment, not the same thing at all.

I thought that the US had a monopoly on celebrity justice. It seems that this another area in which the rest of the world has caught up.

Perhaps elevating Judge Judy to the Supreme Court and appointing Jon Stewart and Rush as joint Attorney-Generals might restore the US lead in this important area.

I'm not going to deny that corruption exists in the US. But if you think we're the leaders, then you know nothing of the outside world. We're amateurs in this area.

It is hard to disagree with truth so obvious.

Really? We're nowhere near some other areas of the world when it comes down to all the various intricacies of corruption.

Now though...if we could just catch up to the paparazzi in the rest of the world. We're trying.

I've no idea why you guys seem to think I was talking about corruption in the US. I never mentioned nor thought of the issue of corruption at all.

I was just making a light hearted comment on the vagaries of celebrity justice. Nothing more. Anything else is entirely in your imagination. A little over defensive perhaps? Try chilling out.

No, you were speaking to the media side of it, I got it.

I hadn't watched TV in some years, and though I had to scratch my head and then look it up, I now see the Judy Judge reference in your post.

Yes, I find that what interests the home folks, as the conglomerate media parlays it, is the most boring (even possibly the most depressing, due to the aggressively de-evolutionary aspect of 95% of it) thing imaginable.

It's a lot more entertaining for me to see what nuzzles the armpits of other people around the world.

Thanks for filling us in on that score.
