I am curious, as to what others feel, about treating their submissive as a 'pet'.

Given that we bred our domestic pets for a certain personality, and, given that some of we submissives have a similar personality as the common pet dog, what I'm asking is whether that particular "pet treatment" is common in YOUR D/s dynamic?

All ideas are welcome, as I will read all, even if I don't respond, in order to learn more about it is that I feel and that you feel toward those who feel as pets.

Personally, not my bag at all. However, I do know quite a few who are happy in their relationships with this dynamic. "How common is it"? I don't think you will EVER get a true answer as to percentage out of total power exchange relationships. The only answer I can give with total certainty is that if you both are happy with it, and it's consensual, what else matters?

ETA: My two dogs are mutts (or as the maltipoo prefers...mixed breeds

). After having them, it would take a lot for me to have a "bred" dog...there's something about rolling the dice and dealing with whatever you get in terms of personality. And, honestly, that's the way I deal with my human relationships. (But, I digress...)

It's not within our relationship and not something either of us want. How I feel about others who do it, whatever works for each couple is how they should conduct their relationship.
