LittleGirlHeart -> if i have my hair ends professionally bleached and dyed (9/16/2014 8:01:38 PM)

can i just have my hair cut off if the bleeching damaged my hair.Or When I'm tired of the color difference, id love to have beautiful blue pink and purple strands/ends but I'm kind of vain about not damaging my hair. But i figured well if i do just the e ds i can live with out, i will treat myself one day, then i it damages th hair cutting it off should make it ok again.

Course this time of year clip in hair extensions that are colored are popular, i may try that, first

Your hair grows from your scalp, so yes. Bleach and dye will damage your hair, it's the nature of the stuff. All you can do is go to someone that knows what the hell they are doing. It is all going to damage, you just need someone that can do damage control.

Jus sayin

Yep, bleach is bleach. If you want something that looks nicer than the average clip in extension, and you have moderate crafting ability, try this: Purchase the lightest blonde human hair extensions that closely match the thickness of your own hair in a moderate length, bleach and dye sections of that and either have them put in permanently or make them into clip-ins. They will blend better with your natural hair and you will not have to worry about damaging your own.

Yes, but i can just cut it off right, if i did my ends or up to a point i could stand to have cut off, and the rest would be ok right?

Yes, the rest of your hair would be fine, but be careful to keep an eye on it so they don't split.

You can use some great veggie dye based hair colors. They wash out fairly quicker on unbleached hair, but hold it longer on bleached hair. Pink is like a cockroach in that it just doesn't die...aka it lasts a long time. Look up products called Special Effects, Manic Panic, etc. I used a red Special Effects dye for quite awhile. It was fun

I googled can you dye dark hair with out bleaching first, and all the resulting answers was no. It would not show up, or it would only show up as highlights, and i obviously want dark cibramt colors you can clearly.see.

Exactly, LGH. The dyes take better to bleached hair than non-bleached. Id personally recommend seeing a professional to do the bleaching part. The color part you could do yourself if you are comfortable with it.

< When I had pink hair- I bleached it first, then used Manic Panic (I think...) to put the pink in.

Cosmetologist here...
You're not gonna really see the color you're wanting to see without lifting(bleaching) your hair.
It will cause damage, but maybe not a lot. Make sure after you color, with whatever you're wanting,
that you condition really really good. This will help minimize damage.
It's A Ten is a great conditioner. Fair price as well.
Oh and helpful tip, get it from a salon, not the grocery store. And check it's date.

Eta: Pravana has kick ass colors!

Is this a good.conditioner to us even after the dye has faded or was cut off?
