In another thread, commenting on another profile, subrosaDom said:

And I can't emphasize enough how important it is to scrub purely negative comments. I don't care how amazing a submissive looks, seems or acts -- if her profile says "To those of you who think I am fake, go fuck yourself!" -- I cross her off. Now, if she said "Now to those of you who think I am fake, you have strengthened my belief in the self-culling herd" -- well, that's very biting, but it's funny (at least to me). I'd respond to her.

I have a brief blurb on my profile which states "I really am just looking for friends at this time. I am NOT interested in hookups, being your long distance slave, or people who only want to tell me they don't like my shoes. If you fit one of the above categories please save us both time and do not message me. " I intended it to be a light, slightly humorous, bit, but I'm concerned that it might sound too hostile. I've had several people send me sympathetic, encouraging messages, even more telling me to ignore the shoe haters (usually those got the humor and are laughing with me!), and three more people who hate my shoes (and one who informed me the shoes were fine, but women should always wear dresses.)

Does this read as hostile or unfriendly to you? Should I cut it? Rephrase?

Thank you in advance for your kind attention.

Hello!

Obviously people are going to read that differently, I definitely don't see it a negative.

Of course.. it would be interesting to know if in your experience it actually works in deterring players!

If you're just looking for friends why would it matter how hostile it is? People looking for friends will read your entire profile and your journal. So be as pissy at the top as you want.

The idea was to cut back on the "Be my sex slut!" messages, and it seems to have done that. Or perhaps the "Fresh meat" smell in the water is starting to dissipate.

Just put at he top of your profile hat you "live for head", and use this pic as your main.

It's doubtful it honestly matters what you put in your profile. The "be my sex slut" types aren't really reading what you type anyway.

You should post whatever shows your real personality so that you attract someone who is compatible with it. Be yourself and hold out for the right one rather than try to present yourself as something you're really not just to try to please everybody. Better to attact three people who "get" your sense of humor than to attract ten who disapprove of you and want you to be someone you're not just to please them.

I'm being myself - but text is prone to miscommunication. I just don't know how my words read to others. Studies have shown that people misinterpret the "tone" of text communications quite often - and since I know what I mean, I can't read it and see how it would appear to someone else.

I concur wholeheartedly that it's better to have a smaller number of compatible people than a larger number of incompatible - the latter seems an exercise in frustration, for everyone. No point.

I enjoyed your profile, it gave an overall good feel for who you are as a woman,
and I didn't find anything negative in how you've represented yourself.
The shoes are cute too. Welcome to the forums!
