Considering what happened the last the Chinese people stood up to their leaders this takes guts.

The Chinese have had a complete change of leadership since the last debacle.
And this lot seem to be more coherent and less confrontational about the whole thing.
The 'morning crew' are cleaning up after the night before.

The whole scenario seems a lot more 'civilized'.
But... we are waiting to see what the HK government are going to do next.

People who are used to one sort of ideology, and absolutely know it's right, true and natural; against other people who are used to a different sort of ideology, and absolutely know it's right, true and natural.

lovely video with heart string plucking music, but what happens if China doesn't let it go?
HK is theirs now, who is going to stop them?

Social media?

Global banking?

I think the Hong Kong situation will prove to be way more important than the IS confrontation.

I think China's primary concern at this point is to keep this contained to Hong Kong and not spread to the rest of the country.

Had you a clue as to what happened then you would not post such nonsense.
