Personally, from either side of the spectrum, i have an affinity for Rammstein...
Godsmack, Metallica, and a local band called Tungsten Coil works for me as well

Enya, maybe classic.

But sometimes just something a little rowdy.

Depends on the scene and mood

I have to have music.  Alternative or something that I can't really focus on and sing in my head.  Fangs likes something with a beat that he can swing or swat or slap or whatever evil thing he has thought of  for the day.  Lorn, Metallica, The Matrix soundtrack are good.  Blackeyed Peas not so great.

In a previous post I had said...Tool...Audio Slave....Disturbed....but a friend of mine just burned me a copy of some unreleased Evanesence....now this I could see playing to....damn that Amy can sing.......

For me I have found that having music with  creative vocals ,sounds, and rhythmatic beats is  very important it puts my submissive and I in session dancing with eachother as we feel ourselves feeding from eachother's head space .

For Extreme sessions I play Dance music (R&B, RAP,HIP HOP , and ALTERNIATIVE ).

For a more mellow sessions Soothing sounds are great ( JAZZ, ZEN,SLOW R&B)

Well, when I've used it (which is not lalways) it was R & B.
But, even though I don't ever attend operas, I do have some operas on tape - and that might be cool to hear, if it was particularly dramatic. Also, classical (but more emotive classical, I just hate Bach).

I think of this as background music, so if it gets really loud or there are too many vocals, I might get distracted. But if not, I have to say I've always loved INXS, and too many other 80's groups to name (U2 also, I just love, but it's hard for me to think of that as bdsm background music, but it might be okay).

I wanted to know if any of you play any music during your play

I think my all time favorite CD is Juno Reactor's "Bible of Dreams"

Has great up and down flows but is still hard enough to keep you flying. I have gotten to where the CD itself can start putting me in subspace <wink>

For those of you who dont know who they are.. this group did the music for the the Matrix  movies.

One thing I cannot do though is scene to music with lyrics..I LOVE to sing and would focus more on singing along to the music rather than flowing with the scene.. although I guess with a creative Dom that could be a rather interesting scene all its own LOL

WhipTheHip -> RE: What kind of music you play during a scene? (8/13/2006 6:28:42 PM)

Are you kidding me.  There are only a few songs I like to play: "Whip It" by the Talking Heads, Funky Town, Electric Avenue,
William Tell Overture by Gioacchino Rossini, Super Freak by Rick James.

DiurnalVampire -> RE: What kind of music you play during a scene? (8/13/2006 6:33:17 PM)

Its beena  while since I played music during a scene.  Watched the superbowl once... that was interesting...
Maybe I should get some ideas...

For me there is no music. i am usually kept caged for 3 to 4 hours in a dark room while she sleeps. She sleeps much better in a quiet house even though it is not easy for this slave.

DesertRat -> RE: What kind of music you play during a scene? (8/13/2006 6:53:37 PM)

For the longest time I didn't give any thought to music but I've recently found that Mazzie Star is an excellent choice.

Whip it is a Devo song.

Dollbecky -> RE: What kind of music you play during a scene? (8/13/2006 11:02:42 PM)

Vast "Pretty when you Cry"  Such a hot song ..A Perfect Circle, Collide, VNV Nation, Girls Under Glass, Depeche Mode, Nick Cave,Grim Faeries, Rammstein, Celldweller,NINLollipop Lust Kill Lords of Acid, Korn these are all things that pop up on my spanky playlists :)
I like harder music in genral anyway ...so for me mixing those  raw heavy intense beats with bdsm is just ...orgasmic;  it puts me in a very special headspace

girl4you2 -> RE: What kind of music you play during a scene? (8/14/2006 5:40:17 PM)

i find that classical pieces, especially by some of the eclectic composers, can be nice. so can foreign folk music, something which adds to the ambience but doesn't distract from it. i don't want to find myself bopping along to some catchy tune when i'd rather be floating along to some catchy beating. : )
