That will be slick. As (nutsucker) president, you will forward a bill to the (nutsucker) house and the (nutsucker) Senate, and the nutsuckers pass it, and hey, how much money has been wasted in this fiscal conservancy when it already has been deemed unconstitutional, the bulk of the states will not pass that dogshit, and we will be left with the rightwing media saying, we were not conservative enough, and you didnt pass it because Obama was black.

And the threads on Collarspace parroting just that talking point with the additional 'factoid' that 83% of Americans want such an amendment and this country was founded on Jeebus and so on, that it was nutsuckers that brought Ebola to America, while borrowing and spending and 'really' guarding our porous border.

TX has more Baptists than any other state in the USA. In Houston one church has a congregation of 45,000.

Can a candidate for president nominated by the new Republican Party, paying tribute to all the old southern obsessions with white control of people of color, male control of women, nativist control of the nation's borders, and traditional conservative Protestant control of public morals, win the election to the White House? --Thomas Powers, NYRB

• A map of the bible belt and the Confederacy are pretty much the same. Religion is a growth industry in Texas.

• Texas was so full of danger that seizing it required much violence -- and so TX needed a religion with spine to tell them that they were "right", had God on their side, and its people could overcome all obstacles.

• Texas past features war to keep slaves, poll taxes to vote, white-only democratic primaries, hundreds of lynchings of Africans Americans, the rise of Ku Klux Klan, opposition to Womens' suffrage, and brick-wall denial of Evolution.
