These are the characteristics to be found in bigots everywhere regardless of whether they are Taliban thugs or Western looney right rednecks.

She might and she might see those same qualities in your posts. But I can understand if you don't see it that way.

It is odd to me how these leftist worms act as though discussing what happened to Malala Yousafzai, exposing Islamists for the fascists that they are in a frank and honest manner, is the same as pouring salt or acid on them In other words, why do leftists go literally mad if people try discussing how women are treated in Pakistan and Afghanistan etc by the Islamist cult What is the tie in?

Hey, I'm a leftist worm. I just don't lean so far to the left that I keep going round in circles ;) I would be interested to understand what Sanity wrote that was offensive. So far, I heartily agree with him but I sense his words are being twisted and his personality is being assassinated somewhat. Seems to me that Sanity and a few others are trying to keep this on topic, the rest are just using it as an opportunity to hurl bricks.

One of the reasons I use a much bigger forum group than this for talking politics is, I don't get to analyse and form an opinion on individual characters. You may pick up the odd name and recognize someone for having very different view points to your own but because it all rushes by so quickly, all you can do is criticise a poster on that actual topic at the time. I can see how this happens here. Too fewer posters means we all get to love or hate one another. We can retain dialogues, build hate campaigns and we can make life incredibly difficult for people we don't like. Not an easy place to debate me thinks. I'd send you all a link to a great site but I don't think I'm allowed to do that here [:)]

If your intention is to call attention to human rights abuses and honor a brave and courageous young woman for standing up to such abuses and oppression, then I think many on the left would applaud and support that. Why would there be any kind of debate over such a thing? Whatever "real motivation" might exist to disrupt the debate is in waiting for the other shoe to drop, the proposed solution to all this "Islamism," which not only involves US military action, but entangles us further and deeper into Middle Eastern intrigue. Frankly, it would be a lot easier for the West to oppose such atrocities on moral grounds if we ourselves had a "cleaner" record. If we could look at this situation on a more rational level, we might be able to come up with more long-lasting solutions. But you seem to want to whip up some kind of war fever with an "us vs. them" mentality. Everything you argue for in this regard indicates a mentality stuck inside that particular box, which comes across as narrow and closed-minded. Some people on the right would advocate bombing "them" back to the stone age, a war cry I've heard recently. But then, young women such as Malala Yousafzai are living among "them," which makes the idea of taking military action against "them" all the more complicated.
