ORIGINAL: dcnovice Even (or especially?) when we think we've artfully covered our tracks, inconvenient secrets have a way of oozing out. In this case, I'd be concerned with either store's finding out. If Costco discovered he "cheated" on Walmart, the new bosses may well ask themselves, "If his last employer couldn't trust him, can we?" dc, you beat me to it. Wouldn't Costco have its own "non-compete" clause, considering that Sam's Club is their closest warehouse-type bulk discount competitor, and Wal-mart owns Sam's Club. Even if they don't formally, why wouldn't Costco presume that your man doesn't have enough integrity to work for them? Not only that, but one of the biggest problems with retail stores is employee theft (including what's called "time theft"), so you must present yourself as squeaky clean at all times. Peon, no no no. First, you cannot trust ANY human resources dept. as far as you can throw them. Second, Caesar's wife must be beyond reproach, and it would just reflect badly on his (lack of) character.
