joether -> The President did call their bluff! (10/26/2014 6:31:48 AM)

Recall four months ago how the Republicans were going to sue the President of the United States of America? Because he was....ACTUALLY....doing his job (unlike all of the Republicans in Congress). That the law suit was put into play to garner political points from the Republican/Tea Party base in the upcoming election in a week or so. How far is it from Congress to the Federal Courthouse, were this lawsuit would be filed?

About a 10 minutes walk.

What's the hold up Republicans? Cant walk for 10 minutes? Don't have a working car? Never heard of a bicycle? Can't afford a cab or courier, but can afford multi-million dollar re-election campaigns?

No, the reasons are many. The more popular ones are (in no particular order):

A ) The President called their bluff because they have...NOTHING...on him.

B ) When was the last time we accused the Republican/Tea Party of accomplishing things in the last six years?

C ) Those Republican/Tea Party folks running for re-election didn't want the Democratic base to be...HIGHLY...motivated to vote.

D ) The Republican 'nobility' is afraid to be seen in public, among the peasants they rule over.

Yeah, option 'C' is the most likely of the group. Which shows just how 'tough' Republicans are on the 'issues that matter to their base'. If they cant be 'tough' with the President, why should anyone think they will be tough on any other issue facing the nation?

I vaguely remember some talk about it but to be honest I didn't pay it any more attention than I have with all the past presidents. It doesn't seem to matter whether it's a D or an R for the opposite side to spend the term coming up with ways to get them out of office. What always amuses me is the ones who then act like this is something new.

Unlike previous US Presidents, Mr. Obama has had to face a tidal wave of attacks to undermine and remove him from office. Never heard of a 'birther'? The ones that said he wasn't born in the nation nor to US Citizens? Or of Benghazi? Or Libya? Or Ebola? Or dealing with Russia and Ukraine? Dealing with terrorists? ISIS/ISIL? How about that Affordable Care Act and all the mindless bullshit?

Anything related to the President, big or small, you (conservatives) blame the man over. Unlike other US Presidents, you blame this guy over stuff....HE HAS NO CONNECTION TO! Directly or indirectly.

So yes, its quite 'ok' to laugh at the whole of the Republican Party for failing to file the lawsuit like they publicly announced to the nation. Your defending their inability to walk 10 minutes is amusing all by itself....

Really? He is the only one they have picked on? I guess you missed all the R's going after Billy boy or the D's going after George W.

I have no control over what other conservatives blame him for just like you have no control over the liberals. And since I have posted in the past about things that he has done that I am not sure why you are spouting off about it. If it really pisses you off, go find someone who is actually saying those things and blast them.

I wasn't defending them but I am used to people reading crap into posts that are not there so I wasn't surprised when you claimed I did.

I also didn't say it wasn't ok to laugh at them, I said I was amused by the ones who acted like it was something new.

Maybe they are waiting until after the election

Where did the President "call their bluff?" The article has no mention of it.

While the subject of the lawsuit may or may not have merit, anyone who didn't truly think this was more political than anything needs to catch up with the rest of us.

It is very new and the dems have never tried or even come close to publicizing something like this...this much, only to seemingly drop it.

Not sure why you added that.

Lucylastic -> RE: The President did call their bluff! (10/27/2014 3:38:30 AM)

That was my lazy bad DS that link was for Thishereboi.
whose post suggested that there wasnt a difference being threatened with being impeached by congress and being sued by congress.

My post suggested that? Interesting because this is my first post...

And there is not one mention of congress in it nor is there any mention of impeachment or being sued. And yet you seem to think it not only mentions them but suggests there is no difference.

But since you are having such trouble maybe I can clarify my point...

This is nothing new. Doesn't matter if the pres is a D or a R the other side will have some who claim he should be thrown out.

Now is that better or should I break out the picture books for you?

Lucylastic -> RE: The President did call their bluff! (10/27/2014 7:32:43 AM)

you can show me all the pictures you want, bless your heart
The topic is
The pres called their bluff and said sue me.
He is the first sitting president to be "sued" by congress
A little different to just trying to throw a pres out.
As to wether they change their minds, or drop it quietly, we will have to wait until the chicken shits come back after the election.
And yes I mean both R & Ds

that might be tech true in that it may be the first time congress VOTED to do it, but congressmen have sued sitting presidents before
in one case as many as 110 filed a joint suit

oh FFS
I didnt say anything otherwise and carefully STATED the specifics.

And it doesn't change the fact that I didn't say what she claimed I said. It also doesn't change the fact that whoever is sitting in the oval office is going to have people on the other side trying to get them out. But maybe this time it will stick and Obama can claim another first. Stranger things have happened.

Lucylastic -> RE: The President did call their bluff! (10/27/2014 10:32:26 AM)

i never claimed you said anything
I said your post suggests to me.
not that you :"said" ANYTHING.

but keep wishing...

So "to be honest" you would not have posted anything about it since it is such a vague memory?

I didn't pay it any more attention than I have with all the past presidents.

Yet from this self confessed ignorance you continue to litter the board with your insipid opinions.
