Jian Ghomeshi, a prominent media personality here in Canada when his employers (The Canadian Broadcasting Company, CBC), decided they were uncomfortable with his private sexual proclivities. Yesterday, his lawyers filed a $55,000,000 lawsuit. Check out his story on facebook, or on www.ctvnews.ca

And from this, comes todays top story. Here in Canada, rough sex that inflicts pain can lead. to sexual assault charges. http://globalnews.ca/news/1639508/can-rough-consensual-sex-lead-to-criminal-convictions/ Tell me what YOU think. Personally, as long as it is consensual and doesn't involve children, what happens behind closed doors, is nobody else's business. .

DarkSteven -> RE: Fired for being kinky..... (10/28/2014 10:06:31 AM)

I'm not worried. Here's how I see things happening:

I'm invited into a meeting. Me and someone low level in HR, maybe my manager. They start by the low level HR guy saying, "We found your pics on a kink site..." At that point, I interrupt and say, "I'm not comfortable with this discussion. Let's end it now." If they're dumb enough to keep going, I leave and write a letter to the HR director, cc'ing my manager, saying that I was told in a closed meeting that someone from the company had been surfing porn sites and had found someone that looked like me on the site. I was called into a private meeting in which I was informed and felt sexually harassed. I walked out of the meeting. What can be done to keep the environment professional and not have me pulled into meetings talking about porn sites in the future?

End of issue.

For the longest time,I was worried that possible employers would find out bout my proclivities (small town, uber conservative).
Seeing as how I've done work for various churches/schools/family oriented groups,it's a real possibility that some one might feel uncomfortable having a "pervert" amongst them.As for any justification they might have for feeling such a way, well,I don't think they have any justification what so ever, just as they would have no justification for feeling the same way bout a homosexual or an Indian or a fellow who likes to collect beenie babies...actually,to be honest,a fellow who collects beenie babies might even make ME feel uncomfortable, but I digress...It's nothing to merit against ones character or professionalism..unless yer one of them creeps who goes overboard with it,but then again there are probably alot more warning signs for those types other then their sexual preference.
