I'm sorry that many of you are under the impression that reporting a picture or anything else, gets no response. Since I have been here, Support has staff working long hours on those reports and I know of the actions that have been taken. I've often had to field the complaints about those actions here on the forum and my email. I know they are working and doing all they can.

False reports take up a lot of staff time and you cannot imagine how many of those come in. Rejection isn't a TOS issue! lol

While we are all supposed to be adults here and that is something else they work on constantly, we cannot protect people from the things they allow themselves to fall for. We cannot clean the net, they are out there and they are very busy. They come back repeatedly and it is a constant job to keep pace with them and there are far more of them than there are of us.

Moderators report to Support when we run into things, just as you do. Your support and reporting profiles is something we appreciate and need. We cannot be everywhere at once.

I think some people are misunderstanding just what's mean by a fake or a fraud. This isn't just someone who isn't to your liking, and it isn't just obvious fakes like Nigerian scammers.

I am not sure if people misunderstand it as much as they simply don't want to touch the subject because it hits a sore spot. It doesn't take a lot of perceptiveness to notice the preponderance of scammers on the site. So the hostile postures trying to silence or ridicule the OP are simply reactions designed to keep things as they are.

Actually, I do report fake profiles to the mods. And it's not just me - I've noticed that the local fake profiles disappear, usually within a day or two.

I too wish the mods would take complaints more seriously. I don't bother reporting anymore when I see a fake photo on a profile or receive one in a message, because nothing is ever done. Again, it's not necessarily the case that everyone will easily see it as a fraud. Many people aren't even aware of how to use Google image search, and I've surprised more than one faker by pointing out that they aren't, say, an Australian tennis star whose image they used.

So you refuse to report profiles because nothing will get done? That's a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Google image search should be the first check point for any photo posted around here. Also, if anybody asks you for money in any way shape or form, report them and cut. Reporting, as mentioned above, will not do anything, but you will have done your part in the good fight.

I never understand the whining about fakes, fake profiles, etc.

What do you expect from a free site?

It is not the Mods or anyone else's job to protect you from falling for crap.

It is your own sense of discernment that should help.

Keep your expectations of online behavior low and nothing should surprise you.

i cant see a post here where all the frauds, embezzlers, fakes and phonies can be listed -isn't it high time this site got cleaned up? so annoying to have to trawl through all the garbage -wanting payment, 'contracts' 'tributes' or trying to con you to join some stupid sites. No longer a bdsm site really - just a drop off spot for various kinds of embezzlers looking for suckers

In my time here, I have created a couple of lists of profiles with obviously stolen pictures that could be google'd or containing otherwise fraudulent content that screamed criminal intent. The result was that the thread was deleted, some mod emailed me with a warning, while scammers and thieves maintained their profiles for months and years afterwards. Perhaps to this day, I don't know, I typically block them right away with the exception of rare experimental cases.

Desperate souls around here will tell you that you are simply annoyed at not getting enough attention, which is their roundabout way of sycophant butt-licking of the powers that be. Yes, there is a big problem here with criminals plying their craft in broad daylight. An honest, clear headed person would be hard-pressed not to cringe. It is really up to individual users to remove the scum though because the dynamic of the site promotes it for a few different reasons. Mods want ad clicks, women want money, and men hope to get with women by pretending they don't notice extortion plots.

Your opinion is of course important, but that doesn't make it a fact. Moderators do not care about ad clicks. That is the least of our concerns. Part of my concern is, that if members are seeing something that they believe is criminal, they need to do what they agreed to do when they created their profile and agreed to terms of service and that is to report it to staff. Staff then must look at the variables in the situation and evaluate what is best to do with the situation. We do not announce what we do and it is a big job keeping up with it, but because you can find it, doesn't mean that we condone it, want it or won't do anything about it.

This is nothing new to any site and it is a constant battle, but we are persistently working at it. That is our responsibility just as it is every adult's responsibility, to know what is out there, to do what we can about it and be wise net surfers. This would not include the creation of lists blacklisting members. That must be left to those that are trained to handle site business. When you have seen some of the lists and reasons that people put members on that list, you can see why it is problematic. Personal issues between members is not against TOS and not a reason to put someone on a list of any sort that they wish to share with other members and won't be allowed.
