Tomorrow is Election Day here in America. If you can vote, then please do. It shouldn't matter what someone party is or isn't. The right to vote I feel, is an important right that we have and many free nation's around the World have.

I find the decision quite interesting. The judge based his decision on the Constitutional point that Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion.

Non-religious people now have a religion, and are now entitled to everything that goes along with that.

If you really want religious freedom, then you must be willing to accept it for every religion, not just yours.

Agreed. I may be only one voice out of millions but it is my voice - and it will be heard.

That sincere piece of philosophical outlook aside, Elections tend to depress me. Very few of any of the political debate or advertising I have seen has been the "vote for me because . . . " variety. Instead it is almost all the "my opponent is a piece of crap" variety focusing on misdeeds - real or imagined - and "scary" slogans designed to appeal to certain demographic's emotions rather than their intellect. Just one example, an ad that warns me not to vote for someone because she is an "extreme Ithaca liberal." Now, she's not just any run of the mill extreme liberal, mind you. Oh nooooooes! She's an Ithaca liberal! I presume the word "Ithaca" is supposed to scare me because it is a college town and you know how those college people are - always thinking and stuff.

Still, despite my growing cynicism, I will vote. If I don't, who will? That's the truly scary thought.

Make sure to also study up on any local or state wide laws being voted/changed before going to the polls. A more informed citizen, makes for a better nation!

I plan on voting!

Done, the Democrat reps turned out in force at my polling place, but I didn't see a single Republican. The local Dems are scared shitless around here, everyone I saw (all 10 of them) walked right past the Dems without even making eye contact.

The interesting part for me is that I live in one state while being a resident of a totally different state, so I don't get inundated by political ads that effect my vote. On the downside it sorta drives me crazy living in Texas and not voting how I feel about the local/state politics!
