Well it is after all...Russia. You surely won't see any paintings of Putin's whores put over his knee. Just what has Putin done anyway...steal cookies out of the jar ? Crimea ? Ukraine, a couple of poor former Soviet-slave countries right next door ?

I suspect there will be a call in the middle of the night, timed to make sure Putin isn't inconvenienced by the intrusion, in which Obummer will briefly whine about the painting for about 10 seconds. Then Vladimir will verbally bitchslap poor little Barry Soetoro and hang up on him. The Spineless One will claim the call was a matter of national security and exact nature of his sniveling will not be made public. -SD-

Does this painting (and the others) deserve a response, or not? It's just one of many political cartoons, most of which don't really deserve any kind of response. It's just one person's opinion, just like any given post in this forum. Sometimes there's a response, sometimes not. It seems that some people are desperate to revive the Cold War, but many of these same people also seem equally desperate to escalate the war in the Middle East. We have to pick one or the other - or neither, which might be the wisest option of all.

If any president responded to every negative comment, art work, song, narrative from around the world, it's all that president would ever do. The appropriate response is to (1) ignore it and (2) if asked about it, shrug and say it's the opinion of an artist, not a policy matter.
