By strangers on the street, ignore me will do fine. It's not the horror of the attention, most often it doesn't freak me out, I simply ignore it but there have been times when it gave me the "keep alert, don't let your guard down" vibe. I rather be ignored because I don't give a fuck what some stranger thinks, he can keep his thoughts to himself. Since I can't control his actions, I can only control my reaction, I just go about my business.

Ha, honestly you probably are still getting gawked at but probably not from where you'll expect or will be receptive. I notice the younger guys at my gym...high school to college age CONSTANTLY checking out the older ladies there. It's to the point where a 15 year old complained to me about it when I first joined but I notice it now that I've been there awhile. And these ladies are of all shapes and sizes. I don't expect to look the same when I hit 40 but omg, CAN'T WAIT!

It just, is. There are many other compliments (or snide digs if that's what a person is going for...), that have nothing to do with my physical appearance, that mean a helluva lot more to me.

While I've always tried to take good care of myself which has maintained some semblance of okay looking, it's still mostly, the genetic luck of the draw. Approximately 53 years ago my mother and father decided to fuck and voila! here I am with what I've got. I had nothing to do with that. Commenting on it is an easy shot. If that's all they've got, it's a great weeding tool for me. I'm only interested in people that WANT to see beyond the obvious.

I chose "Ignore" because I'm an introvert and prefer to be left alone. There's only one man (besides my kitties) I want to be attentive to me constantly, and I haven't met him yet.

IMO most women don't want unwanted attention, unless they are exhibitionists. Wanted attention is getting noticed and appreciated by a guy I think is hot, but he can't be conceited or it ruins it. Wanted attention is Brad Pitt, Jude Law, Johnny Depp; I would imagine they have enough class not to act like boorish fools. Okay, I'm too busy swooning to type any more than this.

At this point in my life, I've kind of fallen off the cat call radar, and I like being invisible now. The comments and cat calls always made me very uncomfortable. I did not see it as a compliment. It made me feel afraid and self-conscious. The only time I get any attention now is when I'm on a run, but I usually have my 80 pound German shepherd with me and she is a great deterrent.
