Emperor1956, my eyes were popping out of my head as i read your post,  it must be late as i at first thought you were 100% serious, then the mind wandered to, sheesh i thought i had found a site that was not full of wannabes,  talk about a sigh of relief when i realized you were not serious.

Thanks for the laugh i needed that.

It has always been this slave's opinion that simple works best. Good-bye, good-night, sleep well, etc.

She then walks around her bedroom clockwise seven times (having first put the phone on "speaker" mode) each time chanting one of the Seven Names of Power which I have been granted by the House of D'orly, one of the great Houses of Power in the Old Guard of Leather.  Should she ever once mispronounce one of the 17 letter names, she must fall to her knees and flagellate herself until blood drips from the wounds. 

As this task is completed (or typed out to Me in email), she whispers "May I arise in the morning cleansed of my many sins and be clean and pure and able to serve MASTER, the most LORDLY and WISE of the Masters.  May this unworthy slag be made perfect in his Sight.  GOODNIGHT, my darling and ONE TRUE SIR."

I don't know why I can't keep a submissive for more than a week?

My protocol is that when the boy is dismissed he leaves a rose by my feet and or kisses my hand...works in email and IM too. In Yahoo you can even sign off with @};- and that is a rose.

i've found that- in person- nothing works better to say goodnight then two well placed kisses on His feet and a gentle massage until He drifts off! =) no words required=no tripping over my tongue!

 I almost never say goodbye to anyone  I hate that term as IB said it seems so final.  I usualy end with Talk to u latter or goodnight  in messenger or email I use the abreavation ttyl.  shrugs     with the man I am seeing now  I simply kiss him and tell him I will see him next friday or saterday or what ever day we agreed to go out again.

I had one that used to tell me to "run along" to which I was not supposed to respond.. simply hang up the phone or leave. Its funny.. even now when I talk to him he tells me this..:)

Firstly sweetie, take a deep breath and relax. It looks from here like you are trying too hard and putting too much importance on things that simply aren't that big a deal.

IF your Master has a particular protocol he wishes to be used then he will teach it too you, if he hasn't then just say goodbye whatever way comes naturaly to you. If it comes from the heart then it is of infinatly more value than anything you have learned parrot fashion off another.

i like that on West Wing, nobody on staff ever departs the Presidents presence without saying in some way, even if informally, "thank you for your time Mister President"

i know that's a tv show and it could be just the writers conventions, but i suspect they got those patterns from the staffers that consulted for the show.   i like to think if the Presidents staff sees fit to thank him for his time at each parting, how much more should i thank Mstr for the time He invests in me? 

(but i do forget sometimes and just say, ok, catch ya!")

We're pretty informal so between Jim and I it's simply "Goodnight, I love you". I don't recomend saying the last part unless you actualy do love him.

If the two examples were given to you by Him, I'd think twice before uttering the second example back to Him... lol, ask for further clarification.

If you are totally wet behind the ears and do not know what to say, just be you... and keep being you until you are instructed otherwise.

Hi sugarkiss,
you sound like you're trying very hard to please your Master.. He's a very lucky Dom. Now to your question: If He hasn't told you what he wants then the first thing to do is ask what He would like. Remember to approach Him properly if He has given instruction in that. If hasn't here's a suggestion: Approach moving at 1/2 speed so you look more graceful. Depending on what instruction He's given regarding clothing, If you are not permitted clothes then fine, if it's your choice I suggest you approach without clothes. Try to anticipate his wants and needs IE: bring him a drink; or bring ice for the drink; see if he wants a snack-you get the idea. After you've done that ask permission to speak and if granted explain your dilemma. you should always be able to speak, open communication is essential to a lasting relationship
whether it's vanilla or BDSM..

The Kaptin calls me every night He is on the road, when He is stopped for the night and preparing to go to bed.  My final words to Him before hanging up are always, "Sleep well, Sir, and drive safe."(yes, I know the grammar is bad).  When He is home, we never go to sleep without a kiss and "good night."

Thank you, Padriag and Master IB. What is very difficult to convey here in the written medium is the depth of my gratitude to him for keeping me and allowing me to belong to him. He understands my saying the above everyday is *my* way of expressing my gratitude, worship, and love. He finds it endearing :).

I must begin by saying I am a glass half full kinda Dom. For many years I've been teaching people Positive speaking. For example: nono- Honey don't forget too turn out the lights;
positive-Honey remember to turn off the light. The 1st one subliminally is saying forget and has a negative sound.. #2 is positive in sound and subliminally and usually gets the request done where the 1st on doesn't..What i'm suggesting is(unless your owner has told you to say them) .if you have a choice then instead of "thank you for keeping me" try " your slave thanks Master for letting her please Him" and "please keep me" try "your slave/your toy/your owned pet/etc. asks Master how she can be pleasing to Him today " .
I'll look forward to hearing your  thoughts on my suggestions.

When i leave usually to go to sleep i always say "Thank You Master (for allowing me to sleep at that time), sleep well and have sweet dreams when You do (since i usually go to sleep before He does)" :) good luck in trying to find the proper goodbye, ultimately it's up to you and him.

Seems to me that you could just ask Him/Her/It how they want you to do it.

But that is just me and I could be wrong.

When my former Master and i would end our phone calls, he'd say something about..."off ya go, slut", and i'd say..sweet or spicy dreams, Master (which ever felt right at the moment)... (and i could almost always hear his smile as the connection was clicked off.)
