Turn on or turn off?

My guy told me that I make the most gorgeous faces when I'm bracing or expecting him to strike me. I got curious, I make these faces out of fear, obviously on some level I know it's gonna hurt, and even if I'm into it, there is fear there, anticipation, etc.

Then I got wondering why that got us both going?
I trust him, so perhaps fear isn't the right word for it?
Is it an adrenaline thing?
Do others like this feeling you get in anticipation?
Are tops or doms turned on by this or is it a sign of lack of trust?

Discuss y'all...

My slut likes pain. She doesn't understand why she does, but she does. When I am preparing to strike her, she gets this look in her eye where I can see that brief moment of tremendous conflict, she knows it will hurt, but she knows that she will be a dripping wet mess in a matter of seconds... but there is never fear, she trusts me with her life. If I ever saw fear from her I would stop and find out why.

Yah my guy saw this this morning and got kinda weird about the wording I used. He said "if I thought those moments were cause you were afraid of me I'd have stopped along time ago" so now I don't know what word to use, perhaps fear is too strong, trepidation? Expectation?

For me the look is not fear at all, it's the anticipation, the excitement of not knowing when, where or how the strikes will hit. That anxious feeling alone gets my juices flowing before the first strike hits.

I do not equate the feelings you are describing with fear, whether on the giving or receiving side of the impact. I see it more as an expression of our internal conflict as we try to reconcile in that moment we know impact is imminent the trepidation and apprehension of the initial pain with the anticipation of the euphoria we experience a split second later.

Use whatever word you find suitable. I kind of liked my word, conflict. Anticipation is also quite good as it covers a lot of things.

For me, a very simple analogy is a roller coaster. As the cars are being pulled up to the top of that first high drop, my heart is pounding, I'm smiling, yet biting my lip and a bit scared...not knowing how fast it's going to go or how steep the drop is going to be. Yet at the same time, I know I am completely safe and the chances of there being a problem and getting injured are next to nothing. So if I know that this ride is as safe as it is....why are there butterflies in my stomach?

I have the same reaction right before....and during....a spanking.

^ Yes exactly!

To me its almost fear. Truly.
