My slut and I were watching a device bondage video and the guy was using some kind of cool electrical device on her. I am not sure what it was, but he put a metal plate in his sock and then was using his hand as the contact point.

Anyway, it got us to talking about electric play. I kind of dig it and she does too, however I am not certain where to go to find out really good information, or where to get some really cool toys. Also interested in the safety aspects of course.

Anyone into electrical play? What has been your experience with it? What are the really cool things to do with it?

I hope MistressDarkArts comes out of hiding for you!

I have a TENS unit that I have some basic experience with. I'm far from an expert though. I mostly just put it on my fun bits and light it up. I can't hit orgasm from that alone though. I want a violet want pretty badly, or any attachment for my TENS right now. But I'm kinda waiting for my guy to get more into learning about it, and I want to read up a bit more, before I make some huge investment.

Everyone keeps telling me to read Juice- but have you seen how much a used copy costs? No thank you...

MDA had a really good link with loads of info, I'll try to dredge it up- but no promises!

sounds like the attachment for a violet wand to me. Once it is plugged in you use your body as the wand. The one I had I held under my armpit and used my fingers to deliver the current. It works especially well with those nice metal fingertips. The drawbacks are if you are prone to getting spacey from electric play you will feel the same impact which you are delivering to your target.

Sorry I can't help you....but I will say that I went to the "Geeky Kink Event" in New Jersey a couple of weeks ago and one of the merchants there sold violet wands and attachments. I had never felt a violet want before....and this was just on my arm....nothing intimate. But he used a really cool attachment that was a miniature Mylar flogger. THAT WAS AWESOME!!! I wanted to buy one of those sooooo much!!

There's a book by Uncle Abdul, also a website, that talks about this. He's an electrical engineer. The book isn't new but apparently it's a good foundation. I think it's called Juice.

love doing electrical play, so much so we sell we are brokers for Estim http://www.e-stim.co.uk/index.php.

We tend to use it for sex. A conductive rubber cock loop and an electro pad just behind his scrotum gives him, "what he calls" the most incredible orgasm.

Another thing I do is electrical sounds. He describes that as having multiple small orgasms. Insertables are great, especially anal along with sex!

Most electro toys that are going to be used in a singular manner have insulated handles. Things like Pinwheels & Speculums don't need electro pads.

We also have a violet wand which is a totally different feeling but you can't do as much with a VW as you can with an Estim.

Love the Estim, and zeus, and folsom, even fetish fantasy has some fun toys,
I bought my first estim box back in 2002 from a Black Rose event, now 12 years later, we have a medical tens unit, four estimboxes, and 2 violet wands, with mostly male appendage attachments altho I have seen a nice chastity cage I wanna get for his christmas present this year, as well as the gloves and the tag set

http://www.sextoydistributing.com/Merchant2/graphics/00000001/ad734-pkg_460x500.jpg

We have that many because he has a set so that I dont need to travel with it, and I have a set here so when he comes to visit, he doesnt have to travel with his.

Books
Juice: Electricity for Pleasure and Pain by uncle abdul, used to be about 15$ but its selling on amazon for $55!!! it seems to be out of print sadly
Folsom Guide To Electric Sex which is a small booklet,
This website has some basic tech info
http://www.bdsmdebunkingthemyths.com/electroplay.htm

We tend to play at parties with the violet wand, and in thebedroom with the estim/folsom stuff,
The contact plates are fun, altho, I find the tingling in my fingers to be a tad annoying, so I like to use different parts of my body to use it with, a nipple, a nose:) other parts too:)
Stockroom or
Rimba do a fair number of electro toys,
and Fetish Fantasy (by pipedream in most sex shops) especially are fun and cheapish).
This is the home page for Extreme Restraints electro sex http://www.extremerestraints.com/electrosex-gear_43/

have fun:)

Agreeing with Missokyst. Sounds like a violet wand and contact pad to me.

That is my favorite way to play with electricity, since I get to experience the "charge," as well, if I want. It's a very intimate experience.

Of course, I can also use the contact pad, and pick up a metal object (whartenburg, anyone) and not feel a thing... but they do. Oh yes, they do!

*smiles*

Violet wand with a body contact plate.

There's a "mechanical" version (which is a re-branded neon sign tester) the BD10A: http://www.electrotechnicproducts.com/industrial-leak-and-pinhole-detectors/?sort=bestselling

There are also "solid state" versions which are re-branded quack cosmetic devices, such as this one I have which is $28 on amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00E7LLQWY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This made me smile. The VF can be such an erotic little tool for two!

I'm suddenly very turned on from just reading this thread. I've been toying (pun intended) with the idea of trying something electric 'till it hertz.

I think the only thing that's been holding me back is that it seems a lot of reading should be done as safety precaution when playing with electricity. Can anyone tell me if there are re-volt-ing parts of the body that something like the violet wand should not be used against? ...I mean besides eyeballs. (I'm a sick puppy, but not quite that sick.)

So the violet wand takes something like 40watts of power, increases the voltage from 120v to 50,000v and decreases the amperage to almost nothing. So it doesn't behave anything like a tens unit, it will arc but what you're getting hit with is more like heat than anything else. As for dangers, they're really prone to burning people.

Oh no! Well then I have it all wrong in assuming the wand might be the best place to start. Better to go with a TENS unit?

Dont play if you have insulin pump, or other electrical implant like a pacemaker.
Getting the unit wet is not a good idea.
Dont touch metal frames of glasses by accident...it hurts and makes a weird noise
Get a big box to carry your attachments in....
Now im wanting to playyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Thanks, Lucy. Will touching any metal while using the unit cause a zap or pain? I need a refresher on grounding yourself when it comes to electricity...contact with steel handcuffs cause a problem?

The Violet Wand and the ES are very different. The VW is a surface conductance, the ES conducts beneath the flesh.
Like GotSteel says, VW can burn, in fact you can create a brand with such a device. I tend to overuse the things and so end up with what I call mild sunburn but I think I have very sensitive skin. You tend to know when you are overusing it because the skin starts to feel a little sore during usage. I've used one for many years on many different people and to date I've never burnt anyone. Use it in moderation though because the energy with a VW is focussed onto a very small area. Whilst I wouldn't use it on the face, I use it over the rest of the body. Most VW's come with a metal rod. You can grasp the rod, turn the machine on and feel no current because there is no arc but when you touch someone else, sparks will fly off your fingertips. I guess this is what the man you saw in the club was doing. A word of advice though; make sure you turn it down before losing grip of the bar or removing your foot off the metal plate.

With an ES you have more sensations available and the thing is beautifully silent, unlike many VW (mine included) You can go from the slightest sensation, like the wings of a butterfly to the most intense muscle jerking reactions and you can get into orifices I wouldn't recommend with a VW. An ES is a great thing to have if you do a lot of sport and get muscle fatigue, its by no means a one trick pony. Its also the cheaper option because you can start off with the absolute basics and build it up into a treasure trove of delights like Lucy has.

Sex Toy Distributing is good, they also have a book about electric sex. I would recommend that for starters. If you live in the US though, you need a business Tax ID card for a wholesale account with them, otherwise try extreme restraints.

I think you mixed me up for another user since I didn't mention anything about a man in a club, but thanks for the other info. And yeah, of course I know how a circuit works. I'm just cautious and don't want to assume anything even though the same idea applies to the current running through a human body. I still need to research the less obvious dangers.

I do run and box regularly. If I can use an ES for leisurely muscle massages after a sore workout, that would be fantastic! I am familiar with them used in that regard (physical therapy).
