That not everyone into this are going to be tolerant and open minded.

I think THIS also. Although, I've not mess with people who identify they are into bdsm until after my marriage. Before my marriage, it was vanilla boys that I introduced bdsm to. I just always felt safer with vanilla boys, like they would respect my limits, and they do!

Seriously, infact till today it's true, everytime I mess with a dom, I never get my limits respected. I mean, as in he'll try to push it, somehow.

That trying to completely change myself in order to please another, will only make me unhappy in the end.

AND because I was unable to change myself for that person doesn't make me a bad submissive or partner. It just means that we weren't a good fit and didn't have the same interests.

I have been thinking about this since the topic went up, the other day.

I don't know that I have too many, even enough to make a list. I've almost always lived my life in a manner so that I wouldn't have many regrets.

I have two:

1) I wish I had known who and what I was before I got married. Even though I did my level best to do the right thing, a person like me can never be happy with the axe of monogamy, hanging over his head. That, in-and-of itself is reason enough for me to assume 50% of the "fault" of my marriage.

2) I wish I hadn't been such a stickler about duty and honor and keeping one's promises back in 1999. It would have made my life and someone else's life much different.
