Hello!

I am posting here in search of some help. I am looking for attorneys who would be willing to send me work on occasion (unpaid or paid, doesn't matter) to help me build my research and writing skills and my resume. I am a second year law student, and have access to Lexis Nexxis and Westlaw, so I can pull law for any jurisdiction needed.

I am in the Charlotte, NC area and am also looking for internships within the legal field if anyone has anything available and would like to give me a chance. This is a very serious post, and I am not looking for anything more than building my resume. I feel the need to add this disclaimer to avoid any unwanted messages, or expectations. I am happily under consideration, and in a monogamous relationship.

Email is the easiest way to get in touch with me, and I can be found at [email protected]. I will give my school email and phone number out after establishing safety (since my school email contains my last name and this is the internet after all). I am happy to answer any questions you may have.

Thank you so much!

First thing first; edit your contact info out of this post. You cannot do that here and you have a perfectly good email on this site. So if they want you, they will contact you.

Second thing: We have more than one shark... attorney on this site.

Third thing: I am going to need see naked pics of you.

Jus sayin

Welcome to collarpsace forums!

Lemme get this straight. You want a legal internship in Charlottesville. So you advertise in a worldwide forum that has nothing to do with the law?

Just look up law offices in the Charlottesville area and start calling them.

Well congratulations on possibly the single worst career decision you may have made. And even though your post will likely be removed, be secure in the knowledge that if, in fact, you do do get work thrown at you... you posted and will have to share identifying information with people who contact you... not the best move on a kink site... especially for a budding lawyer.

Go through regular channels, and wise up.

You would have thought that someone edging into a law career would have read the ToS???

To me, that would have been a fundamental thing to do: do your groundwork before you act.

Sheesh!

I realized the contact information after I posted this, and cannot figure how to edit it. It was a mistake, one I cannot figure out how to fix. Second of all, I am also going through conventional channels, but considering there are many attorneys on here, I did not see the harm in also looking here. Using the resources available to you is not a bad or negative thing, and should not been seen as such.

The Mods will clean it up eventually. Is it safe to assume that you are wanting to become a Kink friendly attorney?

Well given I am in the kink community I would gladly welcome clients from the kink community. Right now, I am just trying to build my resume and see where my career ends up taking me and do not think I will go into private practice (but who knows).

This is a field where who know gets you far, so I am trying to make as many connections as I possibly can because who knows where that might lead.

Look up KAP, especially in your area, there may be some places to land something there with those folks.

If you are going to be any sort of successful person in law, the first thing you need to learn is attention to detail.

You would have noticed that the ability to edit one's post is there for about an hour after posting.
That facility is not going to be there now as it's too late

But good luck and to the forums.

Common sense is a quality needed by attorneys in addition to the license. Gauge is right. Keep your kink life separate from your professional life until you are established. Common sense 101.

Actually, I had computer issues right after posting this, so no I did not get a chance to see the edit posting. For some reason posting on here made my internet program completely freeze up, then my computer froze causing me to have to reboot the computer and I did not get a chance to get back on here until after an hour had past.

Simply knowing someone is in the kink community should not interfere with my professional life at all. There are professionals from all areas on here, and many I know who have made connections because they met on sites like this, or local events. I was simply using this as a medium to meet additional people, and have people within the legal community to gain advice from. Considering the email I provided is an email I have set up simply for this site, and my Dom (who works in internet security) has set it up in a way it isn't traceable to me, I do not see this as an issue. I would not give out personal information to ANYONE until I feel comfortable with them (yes, common sense 101). I am not stupid, and do have common sense, just trying to use all my resources to get ahead.

In theory, it shouldn't.
But there are many tales where someone has lost a very lucrative position just because they are known to be involved in kink.
So Spirited's advice is good and sound - keep them well separated.

Every email addy is traceable.

Even Snowden, who used a very secure system and advanced encryption got found out and had to flee.
Don't be so flippant when it comes to security.
If it were that easy to hide, everyone would be doing it. It's not that easy to be totally anonymous.

Fast reply, I agree with others and best of luck to you! My friend just got his JD, "aced" the bar and is now at his first law firm doing well. Hopefully your first boss doesn't hammer you with work but I agree at keeping professional life and sexual preferences separate. This is inviting drama or trouble, big time. Just a really horrible idea, especially if you are in a committed relationship. Also strange email for encryption. Gmail is the worst with privacy.
