Inspired from the TFTB thread, what do or would you do in the best interest of your D, that would appear that you were attempting to TFTB?

Even though our dynamic is different from most, the one thing that we really clash on is my inability to let him 'be protective of me'. I just find it hard to, in a sense, hide behind him when trouble rears it's ugly head, and I mean that literally.

This makes me smile.

Even as the d-type in our relationship, I love it when my Pet is protective of me. While I don't hid behind him, I find it incredibly sweet and ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS accept it for what it is, his expression of how much I mean to him, and tell him how much I appreciate it, even if I choose another path.

Can you imagine living a life, a partnership where your partner couldn't give you any input? Whilst my submissive didn't tell me she had left her shoes on the stairs so "be careful", she did teach me how to play the stock market. I do though, tend to end up with submissives who are a lot cleverer than me which means, the more submissives I have, the more knowledgeable I become [;)]

Like Henry Ford. *smiles*

This is a fast reply.

If I wanted a silent partner I would have either gotten a love doll or I would have sliced my sluts tongue out long ago. Since neither appealed to me, I figured that since she can talk, I may as well hear what she has to say. I value her input, when she does things to take care of me and look out for my safety, well being, etc. It isn't a threat, it is what she is supposed to do. I am not threatened by it.

I am very deferential, I will happily defer to superior knowledge, talent, skill, I would be a fool not to utilize those abilities in her. That said, I'm curious how this plays out in your Dynamics.

This is not a D/s issue. This is an intelligence issue. Of course that is what couples do. To do otherwise is to display a much larger ego, than brain!

This is both awesome and interesting. For me it has been the opposite. Unfortunately due to unusually high IQ and a ton of research and reading to satiate my desire to learn, there are few topics where I feel I can learn from someone at this stage in my life (Early 20's, different story). My learning began with a desire to learn, not just to ace tests and be disinterested in everything else. An older Conservative woman here in Florida. She was able to teach me many, many things before I ventured into activism. Also just engaging with people who are more familiar with topics I do not know. A philosophy professor, a quantum physicist, a doctor, a Wall street broker, a lawyer, a historian, entrepreneurs, social media gurus, programmers, private investors. I value input from people mostly in a vanilla setting to be honest, and thankfully from my travels I have met thousands and they were relatively receptive. Also there is my own research which has been extensive. If I'm going to discuss eugenics I would first read the Oxford papers on Biometrics or the Hardy-Weinberg theory before thinking I have a sliver of a clue what I am discussing. And I fact check everything said to me to boot if it captivates my interest in anyway. Things have to make "sense" to me.
