I've noticed that BDSM is coming more into public light. Between certain novels and pop songs it's becoming less hush hush and "weird".

So I'm looking to hear what your favorite BDSM related songs are. Is it Rihanna - S&M , Boondox - Freak Bitch, Incubus - Love hurts? I want to build a playlist with BDSM as the theme.

So whats your song?

The classic "Hostage-O" by the late, great Warren Zevon.

Never thought of that in terms of BDSM. As I listen to it again, I can see how it might be perceived that way. And, of course, Michael Crawford is the ONLY phantom... [:D]

Depeche Mode - Master and Servant, and Behind the Wheel

Correction here, as I'm no longer able to edit: Strangelove is a Depeche Mode song, not Queensryche. My bad.

I have to plug Florida's own Genitorturers - Video List Link
It's like a heavy metal BDSM dungeon party on stage. Real hook suspension, grinder spark torture and everything else you would expect to see at an edge players party.

Personally, I think BDSM has always been "out" and popular in the music media. That's not new at all. I think the only thing that changed is that their was recently some quality writing in a couple songs that made them noticeably more popular. To people not familiar with the libraries of stuff about BDSM by alt lifestyle bands like Rammstein, Lords of Acid, NIN and etc, it may appear that BDSM has just become popular in the media when in fact, it's just their field of awareness that changed.

One of my old 70s rock favs is Mondo Bondage by The Tubes Video Link. I love the guitar riff.

Grinder spark torture??? Are you telling me I have been self torturing all these years?

You make some valid points. But at the time, Lords if Acid, Depeche Mode etc were still kinda underground scene material. Bondage night at The Exit in Chicago was going full tilt back in the 80s, but the Exit was definitely not a mainstream club. But BDSM is for sure getting more mainstream. Gonna have to take the good with the bad in that respect.

Bdsm has been out in music for a long time. A quick search revealed titles back into the 70's, 80's etc by various artists. Combichrist, Marduk, Softcell, Blitzkid, Manowar, Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio, DieForm, Magnapop, Pulsars, Lords of acid, Athamay and more.

RockaRolla -> RE: BDSM songs (12/2/2014 3:50:25 PM)

Never thought of Plush being on this list, but it sounds fitting. And now it's stuck in my head.

A song about a serial killer is a bit of reach, but I'm a sicko anyway.
