AKA swear to fucking gods, are most people here morons in regards to trans people? i've been doing a search, and everyone i've looked at presumes that MTF trans is just another version of "sissy" and equivalent to male.

Instead of ranting about it, why not make a post that educates people?

Also Known As?

Already lost.

You can't educate morons. Some of the folks who live in the political forums here illustrate that fact on a daily basis.

Ok, so why don't you explain your experience?

I'll admit that I don't know any trans people personally, but I do really like learning.

BTW, I would *never* guess that you were born male. As a matter of fact, if I didn't know better, I would say that you are a completely adorable woman...born as such....whatever. Sorry if I've unknowingly treaded where I shouldn't. Just my thoughts....

Well, you posted a rant here. How about explaining it here? People from the other side of the site won't see your rant or explanation, but frankly, I'm interested in hearing what you have to say.

I have no clue, realistically. My only "known" encounter with a pre-op male was as a student nurse.
I was terribly niave regarding "worldly things" and he allowed me to ask him all my "silly" questions - after my initial embarrassment.

Might I suggest that you not give power to their ignorance by ranting, but rather ignore them or put more information in the line of educational data for sad sods like myself.

I do have a question -- the wording of your profile indicates to me that you seek financial help from your dominant ??

RockaRolla -> RE: STFG (12/10/2014 12:28:36 PM)

By IDing as a switch, I get messages from people saying "hello slave"
By IDing as non-monogamous, I get messages from couples saying "hello unicorn"
By IDing as female, I get messages from people saying "hello slut"

Ignorant messages are a part of being on the other side, or any personals site. It's not a specific attack against trans people. It's ignorance of users in general.

I agree with Gauge on this. We all need to rant sometimes and I admit to indulging in the occasional literary bout but you are ranting about something that is a vicious circle-people's misunderstanding of your gender identity and ranting about it instead of educating about it leads to more unacceptable behavior on their behalf.

I have a few friends who are MTF and even though I have a general understanding of who they are, I still have questions and they are more than happy to answer them. The point being that they answer my questions-no matter how idiotic they are. It helps me better understand them as well as understand others.

I viewed your profile as you mentioned in another post that you explained your experience but to be very honest with you, I didn't really see anything educational towards being trans. I did, however, see some commentary that may trigger a certain display of poor behavior from internet strangers, AKA the morons.

I know that it's not a complete solution but maybe posting your experience (positive and negative) here in this thread may help those understand you better. Maybe linking it in your journal may be helpful as well.

But honestly, it's best to ignore and block the assholes who are rude. Sometimes it's not worth the aggravation.

And my apologies in advance if there are any typos-I currently have a cat sleeping on my arms and it's not easy to type with 10 pounds of kitten on you.

DarkSteven -> RE: STFG (12/10/2014 9:33:12 PM)

Since OP has declined, I'll explain it as best I can as a cismale who's known some MtFs.

A CD/TV is a man who dresses up as a woman occasionally, and then goes back to being male. It's done for a sexual thrill.

An MtF TG/TS is someone born with a male body and a female brain. It's like their parents AND God dressed a girl like a boy. Previous treatment consisted of counseling and therapy to try to change the mind to match the body, and resulted in suicides and lawsuits - it didn't work. Now the idea is to change the body to match the brain, and uses things like hormones, surgery to reshape the face, and genital reassignment surgery. Transition is not done for a sexual thrill but to simply get the body to where the brain is.

It's a bit like the joke about the pig and chicken making up a ham and egg breakfast - the chicken was involved but the pig was committed. Similarly, the TV/CD is involved but the transwoman is committed.

If anyone with more experience wishes to correct me, feel free.

Greta75 -> RE: STFG (12/10/2014 9:41:51 PM)

I thought a transvestites IS a male born with a female brain, but a male body? As most trans go sex change surgeries to make everything complete anyway! Boobs and vaginas.

What does MTF stand for?

Ah, that's the difference. A trans person is aligning the body with the brain to get the "right" body. A TV is just a man wearing women's clothes, but doing it for a kick, not to match brain and body.

Unfortunately, transwomen frequently dress up as females before transition, making them perform the same actions as TVs, but for different reasons.

It's not necessary to have breast implants. Once female hormones are taken, the breasts grow.

Not all transpeople have genital surgery (SRS or GRS). in the US, SRS costs about $20K to $30K, which is a helluva barrier. A pre-op is one that has not had the surgery, and a post-op is one that has had it.

MtF stands for Male to Female. FtM stands for Female to Male.

DarkSteven thanks for your informative post. I was a bit unsure of this myself so I'm glad I'm a little more knowledgable.

WOW, I didn't know this! Then why are women getting boob enlargement if we have such natural methods!

Greta75 -> RE: STFG (12/13/2014 4:25:40 AM)

I always thought Trans was short form for transvestites. Now it seems, a Trans is a Trans, and a Transvestite is different.
Complicated stuffs! But the ones here, seriously, never take male form or take time out from being a woman and continually dress like a female at all times. Most are saving to get the full deal done.

I knew that but that question merits a freaking answer O.O
Spontaneous guess is that if you fail to use the supplements they will fade away and you do get a personality change (I guess?)
