ORIGINAL: Lucylastic NO of course you arent saying you are against it or for it. LOL You are hurt because a dem dares to use her voice to point out what is blatantly wrong with this particular bill and has backing from the other side of the aisle. the government was shut down last year, not threatened, not hinted at...AND Cost 27 billion, while many many others ON THE RIGHT have since threatened shut downs over not liking parts of various bills. Oh say the immigration clusterfuck, and the Where is your denigration of those people. oh no hypocrisy there, at all The Bill passed 215-209, it was a tight vote and how many repubs went against it because it wasnt conservative enough. The difference here, as noted in the OP, was that Warren likened Republicans shutting down government as calling for anarchy. But, this year, she talked like she was going to shut down government. Well, she still blamed the GOP (as noted in the HotAir article) for threatening to shut government down, but it was still her desire to not let the legislation pass because of one particular measure. She rallied other Democrats to oppose it. The Washington Examiner article mentioned that the measure "previously had substantial popularity among Democrats," and that many of those Democrat supporters were either silent or changing their votes. The House passed legislation, with some support from Democrats (57 votes) and some Republicans in opposition (67 votes). Without those 57 Democrat votes, the legislation wouldn't have passed, so it was a bipartsan bill. It is entirely possible to point out hypocrisy in one party without also mentioning it in the other party. If the idea was that only one party is ever hypocritical, that would be wrong, and should be refuted. But, the OP was about Sen. Warren's hypocrisy. And, you played right into it. (Good to see you back on the boards, though. [:D])
