And found nice things on there, like pretty dresses, science fiction books and nice chocolate molds.
She also found less innocent items, like sex toys, rope, and lingerie.
Merry Christmas, mom! Your daughter's a pervert!

All things considered, she took it well. I've always had a feeling she would if she found out that part of me, as long as I was being safe about it. Still feel it's none of her business.

This was stupidity on my part. I knew my wishlist was public, but it never registered that people might actually seek it out. Much less people in my vanilla life or even family. That changed as soon as I got off the phone with her.

Anyone else accidentally out themselves to friends? Family?
(Was there a thread on here about this before? Can't remember if it was here or Fet, but I don't want to necro an old one anyway.)
How did they take it?

In the last move my mom found my box of goodies.
It was never brought up, she knows I'm an adult and can respect that I make my own choices. Plus brother and I found their porn when we were too little to realize it wasn't Star Wars, but in fact a porno parody of start wars, oops.

I have my wishlist and all accounts under a different email address nor do I use my real name on my wishlist. It's a good policy to have in place if you want to keep that part of your life private.

Well...box is an understatement probably.

But also...current man is pretty "hands on" he probably would say he is a bit more primal. I don't own a house, and I haven't rented any place very long its not like we have major furniture. We have a few favorite toys- but I keep it paired down for ease of moving. Plus, we moved in WITH my parents for a month there, so I was grateful to not have some dungeon full of toys.

We currently have like...three sets of nipple clamps, three floggers, one wood paddle that he NEVER uses, only one silly leather paddle (although it is my favorite toy), two sets of restraints that are pretty minimal, two sets of "real" handcuffs, and half a dozen insertables/vibrators. The horse crop is mine from riding, and just ended up getting retired to that, but no one thinks twice about it being in my house. Same with our TENS- which I did get for my very legit back problems.

Oh...we probably have some rope somewhere, but I have no idea because we never use it.
I'm a BDSM on a budget type of person- I have a million things I'd rather buy than BDSM stuff, because most of the time he can achieve what he wants with a belt or a spanking, or his teeth...

Since my health collapsed, I've had all manner of folks--parents, siblings, cousins, friends, hired mops--helping in my apartment. It's hard to believe that no one's spotted the kink toys or porn, but no one said anything here either.

Back in the mid 90s when I got my first computer and first discover the Internet, I was living with my mom and she knew that I chatted on IRC groups that were kinky. My screen name at the time was butterfly and the owner of the group I spent my most time with named my mom "madame butterfly". Sometimes I would sit there being the go-between in a conversation between her and the channel owner.. Some pretty funny conversations.....

She was very accepting of my talking to people like this, although I think it would have bothered her a bit if she knew I was doing things real life ....which I wasn't at the times. But at the same time she was someone who figured her children are adults and we could take care of ourselves

I left a camera in a pub once with loads of pictures on it. I had to go back and get it and the guy behind the bar asked me to describe some of the pictures so he knew the camera was mine (or he wanted to mortally embarrass me). I said "umm………...rope" and scuttled away as fast as I could. I'm very happy this wasn't in my home town.


ETA didn't realise this was just about friends and family!

I did once write a diary for someone that I used to carry around with me, he would ask me to write things or I would jot things down about whatever and a friend discovered it while she was in my car and started leafing through it! I like snatched it away hehe and it was not spoken about. I like her more for not digging into it, I don't need to go to these places with my friends personally.

Last year we were in France when the big floods hit the UK. Our shipping container that has virtually all our kinky stuff in, including a cage, a spanking bench and a St Andrews cross, floated away in the flood. The boat yard retrieved it and wanted to get inside to let any water out. Fortunately they didn't have a key but a kinky friend did. We asked her to go down and check out the damage. Unfortunately the lock had rusted over and she couldn't open the door but she had a bright idea; why not get those big burly guys in the shipping yard to help her [:)]. They unfortunately saw our stuff and the consequences of that are, some people are more friendly than they were before and others have stopped talking to us.

No family probs, as I was always pretty open about my BDSM while quite private about my sex...

...but my Chinese food delivery guy did from my doorway accidentally see the video tripod setup to make videos of me peeing for sale in my bathroom due to door angles once.
