Whether or not we get along, this is still a sort of extended family for many of us. It is good, every now and then, to reflect on that fact and to understand that we are all together on this little blue planet and we should make the best of it if we can. The last two weeks have been unexpectedly rough, but it is times like these that I can sit there and really gain a perspective on what it is to be alive, and what the people around me really mean to me. That sentiment is not exclusive to this time of year either.
Without getting too maudlin, I will simply say, whatever your viewpoint may or may not be about Christmas or the holiday you do or do not observe, it is my sincere wish for each of you to enjoy your time with friends, family or watching marathon TV... however you spend it.
May the New Year be better for you than this last year.
