Hey all, been a while since I posted here, but I thought I'd come back to wish everyone a happy holiday regardless of what religion you follow or even if you follow a religion. To Sanity to Heretic, Lucy to Ken, Mike to Butch and everyone else, I hope you all enjoy your holiday among friends and family. I'll admit you have all made this a memorable year with all the discussions I've either observed or taken part in myself. I've learned and grown, and I hope many of you have as well. But since this is meant to be a discussion thread, I'll ask the following question:

What do the holidays mean to you? Whether it be religious or not? Is it about celebrating the birth of christ, giving selflessly, just being with family, or something else entirely?

Happy Holidays!

Nice sentiment TK.

Happy holidays everyone, whether we happen to agree or not.

Thank you Tkman, Merry Christmas to you and to everyone else, whether we agree or we dont.

It snowed here last night, enough that I had to take a broom to my satellite dish, so we are enjoying a white one

Kinda nice I guess, for the kids especially

A warm fire in the wood stove, everyone that can make it here is here, a great meal is in the works for later on, I suppose that I should feel blessed

Happy Holidays!

For the most part, it's about family for me. This year, however, my boys were sick, so we didn't drive over to the Christmas Eve celebration with my family. Sucked, but that's the way it goes, some times.

Happy Holidays to you and yours, TK.

Christmas eve 1914 on the Western Front witnessed a Christmas miracle .
The guns of war fell silent, men crossed no mans land to exchange trinkets
In the middle of the horrors of modern war a little peace broke out.

In that spirit I would like to wish everyone here a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

As to the question posed, the holidays mean family, those of blood and those of affection.I try to gather with as many of them as life allows and treasure each and every one of them.
Merry Christmas to you all, friend and foe alike

My hope for this time of year is that, no matter what your chosen belief system or lack thereof, you experience the joy and sense of adventure and excitement that should accompany the birth of any new baby ...

... if you haven't wound up on my "hide" list. If you're on my "hide" list, I won't lie and say I wish you joy and all. I just hope really bad shit doesn't happen to you (even though you probably deserve it).

Michael
