I know the point of this thread is a DIY sex machine... but as I am fairly useless at building things most likely due to my Jewish genes (hmm an odd vision of Gilda Radner fleetingly entered my mind) I just bit the bullet and baught a Sybian and a Jetaime. Both are very expensive but I figure they'll last a lifetime, come with very good warranties and are easily sterilized. More importantly, they are safe and they also really satisfy the voyeur in me tremendously (should she deserve a ride) - well at least the Sybian has thus far. The Jetaime is still a virgin however... poor thing.
the downside of the Sybian is there is no thrust, it's simply vibration and rotation - but it's POWERFUL. the Jetaime is all thrust but comes with both tie down points and an eroscilator for clitoral stimulaton as add ons.
