Of course, I've stretched the truth. It's been quite a few years, though.

I think, when you include the words "ever", "never", "any" and "all", you negate whatever good the question might do.

I have abosolutely sorta probably never ever ever lied in my entire life so help me Jose.

Now I do have some valuable swampland east of BullHead City AZ for sale?

How is old Bullshit City? I miss Az.!

I only lie when to tell the truth would be inconvenient.

Inconvenient to whom? The person from whom you're with-holding the truth or yourself?

We had a laugh here the other day..............the president of the police union was complaining that the premier of Queensland lied to him. He said that if the premier would lie to a cop, he would lie to ANYbody.
Cops are the FIRST people I lie to !! Let them sort out the truth. That's not my job.

When I left school (was expelled) my housemaster told me that he gave me seven years and I would be in the army, the navy or jail.
He was right.

Sure, I went to jail for a spell, but I have to tell you, I met a lot more people who were honest about and with themselves than I see outside these days. A lie seems to be the first thing a lot of people reach for now.

I've seen that too, probably all the time for reflection.

Dvr22999874 -> RE: Have you ever lied or stretched the truth? (1/23/2015 10:38:51 PM)

Could be............and you also get to realise that it's no good lying to people who can see through you

DerangedUnit -> RE: Have you ever lied or stretched the truth? (1/23/2015 11:01:18 PM)

My sister believed that she couldn't lie because everyone always saw through it.... I asked her to do an experiment with me. That we both go online and have a conversation with 10 people, the 10 in person. For the entire conversation she had to tell only lies, I had to tell only truth. And at the end we would compare their responses. She got a fiance out of that experiment.

People always want to be sure of themselves, so when they encounter something they don't identify with they have to establish it as false, usually violently. The results of the experiment were her having pleasant conversations except for one. While mine only using the truth (not being rude) resulted in a lot of screaming... being called Hitler a couple of times, you know, the usual Internet bounty.

I don't know why this is, but the only people I've known that allow themselves to doubt before making a statement with certainty, who prefer opinion, are those that have been in a situation where those accusing them held power over them. If a security guard believes you are lying it doesn't matter if you are or not because they will treat you like you are... so you learn to choose your position more cautiously than if you were on equal footing. It's no longer about truth, it's about what they believe to be truth. Any who that was longer than expected so I'll leave it there...

Dvr22999874 -> RE: Have you ever lied or stretched the truth? (1/23/2015 11:06:09 PM)

Unless it is a joke, I can't be bothered to lie any more *smile*.....................except to cops, security guards, judges etc . It's all part of life's rich game

DerangedUnit -> RE: Have you ever lied or stretched the truth? (1/23/2015 11:14:03 PM)

My last interaction with a cop was a "park ranger" he said someone had seen me litter.... I swallowed the booze in my mouth, looked down at my cup, set it down and said "oops I littered again" ....he didn't like that very much

usememistress775 -> RE: Have you ever lied or stretched the truth? (1/23/2015 11:17:23 PM)

My last interaction with a cop was about 45 minutes ago getting a ticket because I couldn't find my insurance papers. He only stopped me because he hadn't seen anyone else for a half hour he said.

Prick.

Dvr22999874 -> RE: Have you ever lied or stretched the truth? (1/23/2015 11:19:36 PM)

Mine was in a police station when the cop asked me why I didn't like cops.
My reply was "Because you are all a bunch of lying corrupt, bullying, self-seeking assholes who believe your shit doesn't stink.............now, my lawyer is waiting outside, do you want to call him in or let me go ?

usememistress775 -> RE: Have you ever lied or stretched the truth? (1/23/2015 11:24:09 PM)

What pisses me off is that even when I find proof of insurance I still have to pay court costs.... Damn now I'm too pissed to go to sleep.

DerangedUnit -> RE: Have you ever lied or stretched the truth? (1/23/2015 11:24:38 PM)

Lol at least it's just a ticket.... my fake littering resulted in a summons

Oh shoot you have to go to court for that, just smile at the judge and mix up your sirs/your honors really cutesy like I did ;)

DerangedUnit -> RE: Have you ever lied or stretched the truth? (1/23/2015 11:30:30 PM)

My other half just did his round with a (unmarked)security guard who pointed a gun at his head and told him to give him 200 dollars or his friend would tow him....he didn't pay him. Ah the wonderful world of law

usememistress775 -> RE: Have you ever lied or stretched the truth? (1/23/2015 11:38:18 PM)

Yeah but even though I broke no law I have to pay a 500 bucks court costs.... And judges are less kind to people like me. You know assholes.
