Ok, so I just read that Cadbury's has decided not to be sold in the US.
So which one of yall do I have to bribe to get those eggs?

I'm not sure about the eggs but the bars are not the same chocolate here as it is in "Merry Olde". Cadbury's "rents" the name (I believe it's to HERSHEY'S) so, the British stuff is different (I've had both).

I've always found that one or two Cream Eggs are great (especially after giving up Chocolate for Lent), but, after that, they tend to do a number on my tummy.

I'm not much of a cholocate eater, but when in the US I did try a chocolate bar that looked like a mars bar from the wrapper and the outside of the bar but tasted like a milky way.

During moments of sheer boredom I like to reflect upon this in an attempt to understand what it means.

Are the Americans guilty of false advertising? Are they simply confused or do the manufacturers have a sense of humour? Do Americans buy these things expecting it to be a milky way? Do they realise they are being duped? If when they buy a mars bar they get a milky way, do they get a twix when they buy a twirl?

I like those eggs - especially the mini ones.
Easier to pop a whole one in my mouth! [:D]

Thing is though, as NG said, the chocolate isn't the same.
The first choccy bar I bought when I landed in the US was a Kit Kat.
Can't go wrong with simple things like Kit Kat I thought!!
I was soooo wrong! I couldn't eat it. It was yuccy and horrible.

You can keep your Hershy stuff.... I'll stick to my Cadbury's.

the milk solids/coco butter ratio is the difference.
my daughter travels to the US a lot and of course has been brought up by me, so she notices the difference.
Now she is in the UK for a year and cant believe the difference in flavour.
I order my "specials" for import, every six months( I miss piccalilli) and decent picked onions as well as sweets and chocolate.
The chocolate in Canadian bars are different again.
Even mini eggs are different to the UK and US

I can barely stomach it most of the time. It's far too sweet for me.
Then again, I could say the same for Cadbury's the few times I've had it.
Milk chocolate just isn't my thing. I like Reese's though, but even then it's because the peanut butter balances out all the sweet.

Keep an eye out for the special holiday reeses cups. At christmas they are shaped like trees. They usually have a higher ratio of peanut butter to chocolate than the regular ones.

Ah, yes. That's the only time I buy them now. I think the hearts should be out soon.

there has been an uproar here in the UK though over the cream eggs. not that I eat them, so I can't comment from experience, but the middle bit has been changed, they are smaller, and apparently don't taste as good. there is also a storm going on about the fact that they were sold in packs of 6 like the standard box of eggs, but now are sold as fives, are smaller, but the same price as before. from what I saw people are boycotting Cadbury because of it.

I think the American chocolate that is mass marketed has a higher paraffin percentage so it ships better in the warmer climate.
The licensed "Cadbury's" is little different from a Hershey bar.

BTW, in the U.S. the "Mars Bar" I grew up with was just a milky way with a stingy allotment of two almonds on top. In the 60s when they cost a nickel they had six almonds. Today they cost $1.29 and have two almonds.
Compare what they were like:
1974 Mars Bar https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1XN5lXJ-Ml4 This was about when they reduced the number of almonds on top.

1988 Mars Bar https://archive.org/details/dmbbvt00318 And when they started just making a milky way with crushed almonds mixed in.
