Aylee -> Has ISIS finally went too far? (2/3/2015 1:03:21 PM)

Well they seem to believe that being stupidly brutal is going to help. And it seems to have pissed off Jordan. They set the Jordanian pilot on fire while he was alive in a cage and burned him to death.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2938199/Burned-alive-cage-ISIS-release-video-claiming-horrifying-murder-captured-Jordanian-pilot.html

My message to the Jordanian embassy:

Firstly, my condolences. All civilized men feel your outrage.
Secondly, unleash the Jaysh al Arabi. Destroy the men who committed this atrocity. And do not forget Sura Five; nail them up alive on crosses from Amman to the Gulf. America and Americans, at least, will applaud.

Japan is not overly thrilled right now either. http://www.nytimes.com/2015/02/02/world/departing-from-countrys-pacifism-japanese-premier-vows-revenge-for-killings.html?smprod=nytcore-iphone&smid=nytcore-iphone-share

quote:

When Islamic State militants posted a video over the weekend showing the grisly killing of a Japanese journalist, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe reacted with outrage, promising “to make the terrorists pay the price.”

70 years of pacifism now turning to Ninjas versus Terrorists?

If only they could unleash Godzilla.

I highly doubt that ISIS is going to stop until someone out brutalizes them. Eventually someone is going to go full Roman on them.

Sanity -> RE: Has ISIS finally went too far? (2/3/2015 1:23:16 PM)

With oil prices down theyre desperate for money, and that was in retaliation for Jordan refusing to pay the ransom. Same with the Japanese hostages

This is Islam winning hearts and minds

Islam needs to fix this. Not just in Syria, but everywhere militant Islam rears its violent head

Which is damn near everywhere

"Has ISIS finally (gone) too far?"

Is that kind of like saying "up until now, they've just been fabulous"?

kdsub -> RE: Has ISIS finally went too far? (2/3/2015 1:40:36 PM)

Aylee yes they have... can't you just hear the deafening outrage from moderate Muslims... no way now can ISIS survive.

Butch

Unfortunately they will not respect anyone who will not meet their level of barbarity. This is not about Islam per se but about fanatics that have thrown away their humanity. The line of crosses (like the Appian Way after Sparticus) sounds inhumane but it may well be the level of brutality needed to defeat Isis

Ayepper.

(And, we need to do everything we can....including putting a tariff on imported oil up to a level of $70.00 a barrel....to get away from the Saudi's).

Er, well, yes I can, actually, across Jordan - on account of it was their pilot who was burned alive. Jeez, Butch, you need to eat more fish, or something

CreativeDominant -> RE: Has ISIS finally went too far? (2/3/2015 2:10:51 PM)

King Abdullah of Jordan will be meeting with Bamster this evening

kdsub -> RE: Has ISIS finally went too far? (2/3/2015 2:13:22 PM)

You seem to forget earlier stories how the family and many in Jordan were against the US bombing of ISIS...The protests will be just as much against Jordanian participation in the bombing as the death of the pilot.

No, not really. It's just that those voices appear to be being drowned out by the majority of Jordanians who, for some inexplicable reason that is no doubt explicitly denounced in the Koran as heretical, are mightily upset by one of their Muslim pilots being burned alive. I don't know, Butch. Sometimes I think the majority of Muslims aren't much different to us (nominal) Christians: they do seem to exhibit a certain pissed-offness to people being tortured, brutalised and killed, at times.

DaNewAgeViking -> RE: Has ISIS finally went too far? (2/3/2015 3:43:36 PM)

Actually, Aylee, it looks like you're right: the world will have to go full Roman on them to put an end to their madness. Sad to say this isn't the first time: the Germans and Japanese had to be Romanized way back when, and if it had come down to blows, the communists would have as well. Unfortunately, fighting a guerilla movement is damned hard. The near future does not look comforting.

KD,

The Jordanians have to exact revenge. The monarchy exists because of the personal bond between it and the armed forces, and the clans that make up the armed forces. This guy is a member of a clan and the armed forces. Break faith with him and them; lose the sole basis of political support.

Now the nature of the vengeance they'll take I cannot say, only offer a suggestion. But there will be revenge.

So far we have this:

http://www.businessinsider.com/reports-jordan-will-execute-imprisoned-terrorists-2015-2

Also. . . Jordan and Japan are not the West and do not have a culture leaning towards war by lawyer, so. . . ISIS may have over reached this time.

PeonForHer -> RE: Has ISIS finally went too far? (2/3/2015 4:25:26 PM)

If you're hiding behind that sofa from people who'll say, 'Hey, we should be soft and gentle on those IS guys!', I think you might be hiding for a very, very long time. ;-)

In "The Arabs" one of the definitive books on the middle east, the author states that the Arabs and the Japanese are the two cultures on earth most concerned with saving "face".
The difference being that the Japanese tended to kill themselves, and the Arabs killed someone else.

kdsub -> RE: Has ISIS finally went too far? (2/3/2015 4:32:39 PM)

No Peon you are wrong... HERE is a quick link... there are many more concerning the people of Jordan and there feelings about the US bombing of ISIS and Jordan's participation.

Even the mother of the murdered pilot is against the bombing... Yes now many Jordanians want revenge because of the way he was murdered but it does not change their feeling towards the bombing.

Not exactly outrage for the right reasons.

deathtothepixies -> RE: Has ISIS finally went too far? (2/3/2015 4:54:09 PM)

point 1.

Has ISIS finally gone too far, not went

Just me being a twat.

Point 2.

Who really gives a fuck about Jordan?

There will be some sabre rattling, condemnation and outrage but he's a Jordanian.

Point 3.

Until ISIS starts fucking with countries we care about jack shit will happen.

Point 4.

There is no political gain for either America or us Brits in wasting billions of $/£ and hundreds/thousands of lives trying to stop them, even if we thought we could, with elections coming up.

Point 5.

Reality is a bitch

Politesub53 -> RE: Has ISIS finally went too far? (2/3/2015 4:57:14 PM)

Dear me Butch, you seem to be somewhat behind the times. The link you use to refute peons comments on current events in Jordan, is some four months old.

I would love to know how a four month old link indicates exactly what the Jordanians are thinking today. [8|]

kdsub -> RE: Has ISIS finally went too far? (2/3/2015 5:05:17 PM)

I wanted it to be old...before the murder...when it counted

Butch
