i used to love hard cider, woodchuck was my favorite. but years later i find it kills my stomach even a few sips, mikes hard lemonade same thing. too acidic :(

There is a peach champagne from the Trieste area of Italy that is absolutely delicious. I used to drink a lot of it when I was in Italy but only if somebody else was buying smile........... It's VERY expensive and comes in a little 2-glass bottle. Damned if I know the name of it though but surely there are some Italians around who could help.

Try south African chenin blanc. Do you specifically like californian sauvignon Blanc, New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc or French Sauvignon Blanc? As they all have very distinctive different characteristic. I assume you enjoy Sauvignon Blanc for its deep intense fruity nose, South African Chenin blanc can have similar characteristic. And you might also possibly enjoy viognier and dry gewurztraminer. I am a wine fanatic :)

The mention of Chaucer's Mead brought back memories. Actually, I think Chaucer's is only fit for mulling in cold weather. If you want a good mead with a meal, Sylvan Vineyards is a much better semi sweet. Duro Father's Rose (from Portugal) is very good with stronger flavored food such as an etouffee or sauce piquante. Sometimes I miss working in the desert of eastern Washington. There were five wineries between work and home.

[:)] In my travels throughout Spain, red sangria was all I came across, but then in Italy I discovered variations of white sangria as well. And it is wonderful.
