There is a peach champagne from the Trieste area of Italy that is absolutely delicious. I used to drink a lot of it when I was in Italy but only if somebody else was buying *smile*........... It's VERY expensive and comes in a little 2-glass bottle. Damned if I know the name of it though but surely there are some Italians around who could help.

hey yall,
Ive recently indulged in wine drinking. I prefer Sauv Blanc. Any one have any suggestions.

Unfortunately, no.

I'm not much of a wine drinker, but I do typically prefer a Riesling. There was one made here in Michigan that I absolutely loved but, sadly, I cannot recall the winery it came from. [:(]

I've also made a red sangria for a party before and the recipe was fantastic. I forgot that recipe, too.

This is why my phone goes everywhere I do now.

Try south African chenin blanc.

Do you specifically like californian sauvignon Blanc, New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc or French Sauvignon Blanc? As they all have very distinctive different characteristic.

I assume you enjoy Sauvignon Blanc for its deep intense fruity nose, South African Chenin blanc can have similar characteristic. And you might also possibly enjoy viognier and dry gewurztraminer.

I am a wine fanatic :)

THIS is nice! I'm a red drinker. My favorite restaurant has an amazing wine system, the hubby built it for his wife next to his neurology center. (The story is sort of the best part). My favorite are reds, especially Bordeaux and Malbec. The bolder the wine, the more I will love it. I especially like when it has hints of tobacco and oak in the taste. To be honest, to date I don't yet have a favorite apart from regional.

I wish I had a discriminating palate... but I don't. I envy people that swirl the wine and inhale the fragrance then can taste peaches and blackberries... tobacco and oak...in wine... I taste tannin and only tannin in red wines. I do love whites but with my eyes closed I could not tell the difference from a Sauvignon Blanc and Unoaked chardonnay. Bottom line I like a glass of white wine with candle light and a warm roaring fire with someone I love or desire... but the subtlety of taste and fragrance of wines are lost on me.

The mention of Chaucer's Mead brought back memories. Actually, I think Chaucer's is only fit for mulling in cold weather. If you want a good mead with a meal, Sylvan Vineyards is a much better semi sweet.

Duro Father's Rose (from Portugal) is very good with stronger flavored food such as an etouffee or sauce piquante.

Sometimes I miss working in the desert of eastern Washington. There were five wineries between work and home.

Wine always tastes better in that scenario ... at least in my opinion. [:)]

In my travels throughout Spain, red sangria was all I came across, but then in Italy I discovered variations of white sangria as well. And it is wonderful.
