These policies are from two GOP Presidential hopefuls (yes, its a over crowded field.) Scott Walker of Wisconsin: (1) Proposed a 13 percent cut in State Support for the University of Wisconsin System. (2) Sought to delete the following language from the University's mission statement (a) “Basic to every purpose of the system is the search for truth.” (b) "to educate people and improve the human condition" (c) "to serve and stimulate society" ---- Governor Bobby Jindal Louisiana: (1) Louisiana’s budget shortfall is projected to reach $1.6 billion next year (The MNOT Kansas model in action.) (2) the governor has unequivocally ruled out any plans for new revenue, (3) Louisiana’s higher education budget, one of the few discretionary targets, has been slashed by more (42%) than just about any other state since 2008; there are a thousand fewer full-time college faculty members on the state payroll, and next year Louisiana State University, the state’s flagship institution, is facing a potential 40 percent cut in its operating budget. ---- Recent Deep State Higher Education Cuts May Harm Students and the Economy for Years to Come On a national level the US Government is simply not investing in America --- cutting support for education, letting existing infrastructure deteriorate, and not funding any new infrastructure (public transportation -- for example.) The last Metro System developed in a US metropolitan city was in DC during the 70s. There's been really nothing since.
