I've wandered up and down these streets a dozen times
I never get tired of this place
I always seem to wind up on the corner of your road
just gazing up at your window and wondering if you are alone
and I want to knock on your door but I never have the nerve
I always walk away feeling unaccomplished
I wish I was a braver man
I wish I could tell you how I feel
and I am sure we could have something if ever you knew the truth
I would love to be the man that you would turn too
I wish that I could hold you in the darkness of the night
I want to feel the beating of your heart against my own.
and I will never have fulfilment if I don't get to tell you how I feel
but I will never have the guts to tell you
so I gaze up at your window just a shadow in the dark
hoping one day I will get to have your heart.
