Status: offline 		I'm not familiar enough with the site to search for previous similar topics.
Therefore, charging forward blindly...
I gave my slave a task to put together a list of long distance service opportunities.
But I'm betting the creative characters here will be able to add at least a few more.
Here's what we've got so far...

Text messages-usually by a certain time morning and night. Maybe detailed with plans for the day
Photos
Online calendars and email reminders
Daily emails and Blogs
Self-bondage
Share fantasies, wishes and desires
Report daily events and thoughts
Writing on a specific topic given by Master (Essay)
Housework
Sexual tasks
Study
Exercise

You know what they will and won't do.

As their 'master', it is incumbent on you to see that they are suitably tasked.
If you cannot do that, then you are no master.

If you care to search the forums, you will find a few like this one.
Most will say: "do your own work instead of asking random strangers on the interwebz to do it for you".

Frankly, OP, you lost me at "I gave my slave a task to put together a list of long distance service opportunities."

Two questions here:

What have *you* done in terms of coming up with ideas?

And, if the answer is, "just asking my slave, because you know, I'm the Master", why should I help you?

Status: offline 		I travel often, when Master and I are apart, the tasks and rituals he has me do are unique to our relationship. Depending on why I'm out of town also plays a part in what tasks and rituals (if any) he has me do.

I'm also wondering why you're having your slave come up with a list instead of you coming up with a list of things you want the slave to do.

I think you have a good start.

Going to a class (maybe something that will benefit you in the future such as a cooking class) might be of benefit to her as
well so win/win.

Sounds reasonable to me. Using your approach, as opposed to a list of demands, service is more likely to become second nature (mindset over-rides procedure).

I think you started with a good approach in encouraging her to think about what you want, but perhaps you lost your way a touch when asking for examples.

Make it personal to you.

Could be something as simple as making sure she can make a cup of tea to your liking, or it could be her sat on a rock on top of a hill spreading wisdom.

Either way, it has to be personal to you, otherwise you're simply parroting what you've read elsewhere; which I suppose is tantamount to living someone else's relationship. And, what makes you think you're any less creative than the next person, when you put your mind to it?

Here, he's had me research stuff for him such as how to build a concrete shower for a client enamored of the industrial look.

But mainly when we were ldr, we focused on keeping the relationship strong until we were together again. We just shared the details of our lives with each other.

I'm long distance at the moment. When we are apart, any service I do is not anything required of me, but rather, inspired in me, and it's not really service so much as doing something for him to make his day brighter. I do have certain expectations of behavior when we're apart, but it's difficult to provide much actual service from such a distance.

Wear a ribbon or rubber band on your body all day to remind you on me. Take pics throughout the day and send them.
Take X pictures of body parts (including non-sexual), and send them to me, explaining how they are mine.
Send me three messages today telling me what you think about ___ topic.
Send me a voice recording of something from your heart.
Find X number of blogs/articles online you'd like us to discuss.
Read this: _____ and write to me with five thoughts you have about it.
Send me a picture every hour from tumblr, and tell me what you like about it. (I often make it a theme: IR, cuck, romance, submission, quotes)

And so on. To me, it's all about engaging each other's mind, and delving deeper.

Who came up with the list?
Do you really need more at this stage?
Is the list busy work or is there a point to these 'tasks'
Is LD a temporary thing?
