I enjoyed living in Austin when I was younger...great music and club scene. Restaurants were cool. I used the Capmetro bus system to get around.

Now that there is a large student population, it does get crowded. Not to mention SXSW during Spring Break. There are also idiot drivers coming in from other places, acting as if they own the roads.

It's all about location, location, location. Waking up in the morning and starting your day by watching the Dolphins playing in the ocean or feeding the ducks on the lake . . . well, it changes your paradigm, your mood. Living in a warm place, taking a swim then driving to work in a nice convertible just makes me feel like I am glad to be alive. Why not move to the beach?

As you can see, I love the coastline. Lived on the beach most of my life . . . Sarasota, Palma Sola Bay, Bradenton, Daytona Beach, La Playas De Tijuana, Isla Mujeres and fresh water lakes in Lake Dallas, St Clair Shores MI and Metropolitan Beach MI . . . even lived on the river in Detroit's Grosse Point and Indian Village suburbs.

I am headed to South Beach, Miami Beach, FL eventually. If I don't get the cash together to do that soon, I wouldn't mind living in the Keys. I am very fond of Florida. It has lots of saltwater coastline. I used to live on the Gulf Coast, moved to Daytona while working my way down the coast to South Beach. Fell in love, got detoured to her location in central Florida for a while to straighten out the house and sell it... but even here, if I throw a rock over the back fence, it will splash into a lake.

a family member of mine bought a house in the inland empire for next to notbing a few years back and it's a nice house. However there's absolutely nothing in his town. Personally, I prefer city living. And compared to most other places in the US, people would consider the cost of living my area to be astronomical but you get what you pay for : )

So......RS...are you taking any tenants??

I would LOVE to move to the Gulf Coast of Florida.....Sarasota, Ft Myers, Bradenton.....I don't care! After last winter when we had almost a total of 5 feet of snow and I slipped on ice 4 times, I vowed that I am going to get to Florida even if I have to walk.

Well....I was hoping I was down there before this winter hit....but it didn't work. So now I'm shooting to be down there before the end of this year. I don't know how I'm going to do it, but at least I have the support of a good friend who is trying to help me out.

I just read an article this morning about the states where people seem to be the most happy/content. Topping the list were Hawaii and Alaska, followed by Nebraska, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado and South Dakota (not necessarily in that order).

On the bottom were Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas and Alabama.

I'm not in Sarasota, Ft Myers, Bradenton area anymore. But if don't make the money to hit South Beach, I may go back to the Gulf Coast. The slave loves it there. Like you, both my slave and I hate winter. Mt slave petitioned for only one condition in her bond to me. She will follow me anywhere, except to where it snows. I never plan on living in snow again either so I granted her wish. I'm outside Orlando by Disney nowadays.

I love the Keys. Have family in Broward. But prefer Coconut Grove to South Beach.
