My ex wife used to buy me gadgets, toys and she told me that there was nothing she was doing but buying me stuff that I refused to buy for myself.

What do you most want that you would never buy for yourself?

I don't understand why you would want something and never buy for yourself?

I love antique medical gear. Left my antique OBGYN table with arm and leg stirrups in Michigan when I moved to Florida. But if someone bought me one, I couldn't use it 'cause I have no room for it. I've pretty much bought everything I wanted and would fit in my house . . . even have extra dungeon furniture in storage.

What is it that you refuse to buy for yourself?

Why?

Yeah, I don't get it.

Why don't you buy yourself what you like?

I guess some people feel guilty or undeserving.

It's funny, Gauge, my nightly prayers usually include something like: "Lord, give me the opportunity to prove to You that hitting the lottery wouldn't change me".

I don't know that there's anything I want that I wouldn't buy for myself, if I could afford it. I know that I'm a bit different than some: If I have $7,000 dollars in my bank account, that doesn't mean I can "afford" that $6,000 Les Paul. It means I'm about ¼ of the way there to being able to afford it.

To try to answer the question (sort of): What would I like someone who could afford it to buy me? Well, ... I've had my eye on this perfect spot for a recording studio ...

For a long time I wasn't buying myself a nice camera- but...I just did this weekend.
So...now- I'd like someone to buy me a house- but just because I can't readily afford one on my own right now.

Not married...buy my own stuff.

I love my robots. Got 11 of 'em.

iRobot.com

Wuhnaful devices.

They sweep and then go right back to their chargers.

Love 'em. 3 times a week I take a stick (so I don't have to bend over), push the start button....they go to work, I come back to a clean house....change the filter/dump the cat hair once a week.....all is good.

What I will never buy for myself.....A BRAND NEW CAR!

Why? Because I will never be able to afford one!
