CuckqueanAndSir -> Site Suggestion - Location (2/18/2015 10:10:55 AM)

I would like to suggest that there be only one place to alter you location. Either we should enter a zip-code or a city name. I prefer the zip-code method. I am tired of profiles that say something like Tampa but then says the live 1400 miles away. Well Tampa is less then 20 miles away. Sometimes this is because they moved but a vast majority of the time it is because it is a fake profile

I know some zip-codes have multiple cities and some cities have multiple zip-codes so this may not work. But could they at least be placed on the same page one right after the other. I very often find that people do not know how to change it because it is not located where they expect to find it. I try to help them out and tell them it is on their account page not profile page. Thank you.

Oh boy,now I need to go check and make sure I really am where I think I am.....I'm here ,right ?

Yeah, I wouldn't hold my breath expecting any coding updates to the site. They're still working on upgrading the servers from drum memory to 8" floppy disks.

Ooops,didn't notice that this was your first post.....sorry about that and welcome to the forums.
Don't mind the humor,no harm was meant,but you will probably run into a few wise asses around here...I'm one of them [:D]

Welcome!
Its actually less because they are fake and because they moved and didn't update the zip, but did update the city, or vice versa. At least in my experience.

OR because they put in a fake location on purpose (me).

I don't need any stalking weirdos threatening to out me to my family or come find me in the night.

No wonder I can't find that pretty face....I've been walking malls,parks and libraries all over your area...for naught it would seem. Drats,foiled again

That would work for those who live in the states, but this site has many people who don't live here and I don't think they have zip codes like we do.

MercTech -> RE: Site Suggestion - Location (2/18/2015 4:46:56 PM)

The problem often comes from the fact that the text block for your location is in the "Edit My Profile" button and the zip code that engages in the search function is under the "MY Account" button.

So many move and change one but not the other. It creates a lot of confusion. Like a couple of locals from my home town that show up as being in "Antarctica". What's the zip code for Antarctica anyway. <grin>
