The Times ran a story today detailing (what details they have) of a one on one between the presumptive Democratic nominee for President Hillary r Clinton and the person she most fears sniping from the sidelines Elizabeth Warren .
If Clinton can somehow co-opt Warrens populist message without alienating big business completely she will be tough to beat.
Full story here...

Elizabeth warren--"populist??" what??

if we define populism as "representing the whole of the people" I don't know how in general any real leftie can truly be a populist.

this from a left wing website even:

"Besides sharing a distrust of big corporations and big banks, Elizabeth Warren's Harvard-elite progressive-populism has very little in common with Main Street America's viewpoint.

"Her authenticity as a progressive is solid. But — not unlike her past claims of Native American ancestry — she appears to be only about 1⁄32nd populist in heritage."

in terms of Hillary Clinton, I trust she is popular on the left side of the spectrum and she almost seems to be the default nominee, but to many of the rest america she's a conniving, polarizing and despicable character.

I was surprised to see you label the realclearpolitics site as "left wing'. From wiki :

"RealClearPolitics (RCP) is a Chicago-based political news and polling data aggregator formed in 2000[2] by former options trader John McIntyre and former advertising agency account executive Tom Bevan.[3][4][5] The site's founders say their goal is to give readers "ideological diversity",[6] though the progressive media watchdog group Media Matters for America and others describe the site as being right wing "
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RealClearPolitics (emphasis added)

This shallow claim comes after a previous derision-inducing attempt on another thread to label "nazism" as leftwing, ("the Nazi's themselves were in many ways consummate leftists", source ) an elementary error of fact that will leave all the anti-Fascists on the left** shaking their heads in horror.

If you are going to muddle instead of distinguishing left wing sites from right wing sites, it doesn't inspire any confidence in the rest of your political analysis.

** Fierce antagonism to the extreme right wing ideology of fascism is one of the few areas where all leftists are united in emphatic agreement.

Anything left of fox or pj media is liberal to him.
Ergo rcp is leftist.

Elizabeth n hilary are dangerous.

Two women in powerful positions - it must be a feminist conspiracy to force a tree-hugging vegan lifestyle on honest God fearing Americans!

well there might be a little truth to that...but I do differentiate between left wing/left leaning and "leftist."

as for fox---and I suppose I will keep saying this until people get it---fox represents no one single worldview. the network is full of liberals both as guests, regular commentators, and anchors.

if you go to the link from the Wikipedia article that is referenced when it says "media matters and others say real clear politics is 'right wing"...

http://mediamatters.org/blog/2012/06/14/right-wing-media-promote-another-trump-conspira/186850

...you will see they say no such thing. the article has to do with Donald trump and the only mention of rcp is as a news source covering the story. there is no commentary as to their political persuasion.

but that all said---I spoke hastily and somewhat naively and see from more looking around, that the site is indeed more "ideologically diverse."

and tweakabelle...I am a tree hugging vegetarian, and a feminist too...

bounty the title is Right wing media promote trump etc...
then give a list of outlets that promoted his idiocy

Donald Trump recently declared on CNBC that "Saudi Arabia is doing Obama a big fat favor" by increasing oil production in order to bring gasoline prices down, and that if Obama is re-elected the "favor will be repaid many times over." Fox Nation took this conspiracy even further, calling it a "SECRET SAUDI OIL DEAL TO WIN REELECTION"; Real Clear Politics, Breitbart.com, and Newsmax also promoted Trump's comments.

CNBC, Breitbart, newsmax, are all right wing.
RCP does a better job of being moderate right. But no it is definitely not left leaning.

MrRodgers -> RE: Keep your enemies close...or something like that (2/19/2015 4:31:21 PM)

Populism: A political position that advocates that the economy serve society instead of society serving the investor and likewise removing the taxpayer or society at large at the lender of last resort and eliminating the social insurance for the investor class, (wall street) where it's heads [they] win, tails...you lose.
