I am a poor immigrant kid from a broken home but I want to rise and be heard. Early I knew I could talk and win the debate and wasn't shy that people were beginning to see that but protective of what others thought. Some began to say that I had a clever and cocky assertiveness. Being an outsider, I was careful but relentless.

I was basically an orphan from the Caribbean as my mother died in bed next to me. Adopted by a cousin who then committed suicide. I had to use my time...very wisely, made sure I could write and thus make my name. I could and maybe had to, remake myself and in so doing, remake my country.

Do I have the time, am I reckless and too often, out of control ? Now in life, am I fighting the residual madness of a driven man ? Will I pay a price for a sullen loneliness ? But I do not manipulate seeking power for power's sake I only seek to redeem, seen more as the lover rather than the ruler, as much Don Juan as Horatio Alger.

I want to live on as a man of honor and with the esteem from those worth having. I live on for my country but also love women. Enjoying the intellect of one, marrying her sister whose submerged strength is exposed in adversity. I will suffer the accumulations of life, the battles, setback, bruises, scars, enjoy the victories while enduring and getting through the humiliating defeats.

My competition is often brilliant and knows it. I do not sit across a political divide but I know my country must go on with relatively unfettered markets where poor boys and girls like myself could rise up as I did and govt. as progressive, should subsidize their mobility.

As well, conservative, knowing that Americans will always be aroused by virtue and that mobility. All of the while unpopular in feeling an aristocracy could live on but by virtue and actual hard work...not by birth. Yes, my country can be grand even great if it follows true virtue and looks at itself with real honesty.

Who am I ?

Status: offline 		This was bugging me so I tried googling, came across survivors accounts and pictures from the Titanic and lost myself into that.
I still don't know the answer here.

Status: offline 		Thing is though, he too could be a bit of sleeze. I understand he bought up rev. war military script for 30 cents on the dollar and while he was sec of Treas. and at the same time submitted a bill to congress to pay, you got it...100 cents on the dollar.

It passed. Talk about the 'father' of capitalism.

Do you have a cite on this, I would like to read it, I do know that several times as SecyT he had to buy lots of falling script to prop it back up, before everyone lost everything.
